Hello, just a couple of quick questions.

1 - Does one receive any notification if one's citizenship
application is accepted?
Or does one just assume that it is?

2 - Same thing for names. I wasn't entirely sure I came up with a
"proper" name,
so I'm assuming that if I didn't, someone will let me know.

I'm about halfway through "Catilina's Riddle," and so far, I think it's
far superior to
Saylor's other books that I've read. There's less emphasis on the
mystery aspect
and more on the interactions between the characters. I'm enjoying it
very much.
As I am also enjoying the messages on this list.

Well, it's almost 12:30 AM, and I got home from work about 20 minutes
ago.
Unfortunately, I've got to get up in about 5 hours to go back to work.
So I'm going
to send this message and go to bed. Until later.

Pain in my tushie (as I don't have web access anymore), but I'll do it.

Yes, you'll get a confirmation message as soon as your application is
processed. Unfortunately I'm at work and don't have the Citizen database
handy; I'll check on you tonight.

98% of peoples' choices for names are approved. Unless you picked something
that was way way way out there, it'll be approved. The confirmation message
usually doesn't say anything about the name in particular; the best way to
check is to look at the "active gentes" page on the web site. That'll have
your name as we have it recorded in the database.

Salve, Greg,
You will recieve notification of your citizenship. Also, if your name isn't
acceptable, they'll probably help you on choosing a new one.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my questions. I was pretty sure it was too
soon
to hear anything back, but I was curious.

I made it through a very long day at work, saw my parents afterwards, and now
I'm going
to relax a little before I go to bed so I can get up tomorrow and do it all
over again.

In a message dated 98-08-18 01:35:37 EDT, you write:

Well, it is suggested that after one week of mailing in your application for
citizenship, you find some clearing in an open field where you should sit
quietly for about 12-14 hours while you ask Iupiter Optimus Maximus for a
"yeah or nay" sign. If a bird flies from your left to your
right...congratulations! You're a citizen. If the bird flies from your right
to your left...better think about joining the Gaults!

LOL...only kidding...you should be contacted.
