I tried asking this in Taverna when I thought our Editor was listening,
but she must have popped out just as I popped in...

New Citizen-->Sample issue of the Eagle: What size SASE should I send,
and to what address?

In a message dated 98-09-15 21:58:42 EDT, you write:

<< I'm pretty sure this is a stupid question, but as a *notorious* drunk
(recovering now for 8 1/2 years, and planning to keep it that way) I
really *must* ask: Is there any way to make a *non*-alcoholic drink out
of all this mess? >>

Well, I'm not too sure about the Roman drinks since I haven't seen any
receipes. But with Mead or Ale, if you don't add yeast, you won't produce
alcohol.

Would you be willing to undertake some basic site-maintenance chores? The
big thing that needs doing is going through the site to find where Flavius
Vedius Germanicus is mentioned, or where e-mail links to
germa--------s@-------- exist. Germa--------s, as you probably k-------- rece--------
resigned for personal reasons. I'm sure we'll leave up some mentions of his
name, but we don't want people pestering him with Nova Roma business.

If you wouldn't mind doing that, and sending me an e-mail with the pages
where he appears, that would make my life a lot easier! If you can't manage
it, that's all right - I can probably find someone else.

thanks,
Patricia Cassia

You don't need to send an SASE. Just e-mail me your mailing address and
I'll send the September issue.

Salve Patricia
I went through the site and did not find any place to send email to
"Germanicus". I did see that on the "T-Shirt" pg. it says to "Make checks
payable to Joseph Bloch", with the new Address. This could be a difficult
way to process the checks.
I guess you fixed all the interlinks. Also, The "new" Calender looks
GREAT! I really like what you've done.
I'm taking more pictures of my military gear for the Reenactors pages. I
think pictures really spice up the Text. Also LegioXX is camping out
Sept.25-27 so I'll try to get more pix to "update" the ones we have up.
The Eagle(Aquila) landed today and it is better than ever, Looks real
good.
Vale L Equitius Cincinnatus

BTW my email address and name aren't on the
'Roll ofSenate Membership', page yet ;-)

The verbs 'to be' and 'to go' are somewhat irregular.
To begin with such examples may only confuse those who
haven't been introduced to the more consistent, weaker
verbal conjugations. I again recommend Wheelock's Latin
as a good introduction. I recommend Claudia Aprica's
chatting guide to those desiring a just few phrases
without any knowledge of the grammatical rules involved.

Bravo Cassius!

Your write-up on the Gallic Wars and the wrongful hatred that so many
Celtophiles have of the Romans (and us Romaphiles) was magnificent!

Even as a Roman Wiccan, I often come across Celto-Wiccans who ask me "how can
you worship Jupiter when the Roman Gods destroyed the Druids?". I then have
to ask myself how someone who proclaims to be studied in the ancients comes to
the conclusion that the Roman Gods destroyed the Druids!!!!
