Is the Calendar page running properly? I can't seem to connect to it...it's a
blank page.

I agree that we should concentrate our marketing efforts on college and
university campuses. I, myself, have plastered my Alma Mater with flyers.
But I don't believe we should downplay our position of restoring the Religio
Romana and adapting it to modern practice. Doing so will only create distrust
among new citizens who may feel they've been led into a cult without prior
knowledge of the importance the Religio plays in Nova Roma.

And while the Religio certainly is not the only purpose of Nova Roma or even
the most important by any means, it does play a prominent role along with the
revival of Roman Virtues, Roman Government, and Roman Living. To downplay one
over the other for the sake of becoming "more attractive" is cutting off our
nose to spite our face.

I could not accurately deduce from your post if you were suggesting we
downplay the Religio but I wanted to clarify my stand if that was the
direction you were taking.

No, it was all transferred several days ago. Must have been a temporary

Salus et Fortuna Omnes, Salvete!

Unto our Araneum Artifex(ae), I appreciate very much the enhanced setup
of the pages in the Ephemeral home of the Rebirth. I looked for the
page this morning to check the message board and tried the link back to
the Forum. It comes up quicker and I like to indexing to the applicable
section being in the upper corner.

One proviso if I may? Please, if future maintenance work is to be
performed, put a construction notice out on the E-List and on the
message board.

Again, Salutamus! It is efforts like these which will help Nova Roma
reach the critical mass of viability as an organization. I speak with
deep appreciation from having been in the trenches of group building
myself. I would also like to say that I also appreciate the nature of
the discussions I have seen between the People of the Rebuilding. There
are pointed questions and boisterous exchanges, but I see no mean
spiritedness, save from A. Nonius Mus! (Festus, is that you?)<G> {My new
signature line?}

Benedictus ex Deae Totus!

Stephanus Ullerius Venator,
working on a basic article on brewing for the Eagle.

Graecus has a number of very good points here. I believe the double
line of
interest, call it admirers and believers, is probably how we have gotten
a
number of our citizens as it is. Once a better-flying flyer comes out
it
would be great if people with campus access would take some to hit the
bulletin
boards or whatever they have today.

If there are any Californians with campus access, once we get a jazzy
flyer
I'll do what I can to provide at least masters, if not packets for
spreading the word.

Vale

Caius Aelius Ericius
Praetor ad Californiam Provinciam

This is great, Ullerius! Just don't sample too much of that stuff before
you sit down at the computer. Remember: friends don't let friends write
drunk.

I'm enjoying the new responsibilities and challenges of maintaining the
Nova Roma web site. However, because I have a full-time job and regular
freelance jobs producing Web sites, I need to manage the amount of time I
spend at the computer.

Henceforth, I will regularly update the Nova Roma page on Sundays.
Sometimes this won't be much - just changing the number of Citizens and
perhaps noting the next Market Day.

If you send me something that needs changing, please avoid cluttering the
list by e-mailing me privately (p--------@--------). Be aware that I
probably won't get to it until the next Sunday. Thanks for your patience,
and extra thanks to those of you who have volunteered to help!
