Because it might be useful to some Citizens, and because I thought it would
be fun, I created a page on Roman numerals and added it to the Via Romana
section of the Web site. I also obtained permission to republish a
Javascript Roman-numeral calculator, which converts Arabic numbers to Roman
and vice versa.

It's at http;//www.novaroma.org/via_romana/numbers.html. Enjoy.

I tried posting something similar a few days ago and it never made it
on the list apparently, so I'll try it again.

Why can't there be several different kinds of flyers approved of by
the senate. It gives citizens an option to use the flyer that they feel
most comfortable with in different types of situations- on a busy street
or at a pagan festival, or at a university, etc. One flyer might just
work better than another for one reason or another and we have the
opportunity to experiment a little. A difference as slight as the
graphics and color of the page might mean a lot of difference in how
much attention the flyer attracts.
Anyway, here is my suggestion for the wording of a flyer- starting in
large bold letters the words Nova Roma...

Nova Roma

Join a growing community of people from around the world seeking to
reestablish the foundations of ancient Western Civilization in our
modern lives.

Nova Roma:

a community
a people
a nation

Our current address

Our website URL

Ok, this is just my suggestion, and even though it does not
explicitly mention anything about paganism it is very accurate. It is
short and to the point- most places where people come across flyers are
in a very rushed atmosphere like a large crowd pushing on ahead, or some
other action going on, or whatever. People are just on they're way more
than likely to get to or do something else beyond read a flyer. Keeping
the flyer short and to the point with a specific message I would think
would be most desireable.
Next, there is a sort of mystery to the flyer. It is descriptive
enough to get people's interest up and then drops off to the - to find
out more- Curiousity left in the mind will bring people to the website.
The question of what is this all about will stay in peoples heads until
their curiousity is satisfied.
Lastly, even though paganism is not forwardly expressed within the
proposed flyer, it is very clear as to what Nova Roma encompassess on
our website and hopefully also any literature a prospective citizen who
is not online might receive. People will either accept us or reject us
as to what our goals, hopes, dreams, etc. are as a group. The advantage
here might be that even if someone was totally disinterested in joining
as a citizen, we got them to the site and just possibly they may bring
us up in the course of conversation to someone who might be interested.
The flyer doesn't lie to anyone. We're not putting a gun to anyones
head to become a citizen, but we are opening the door for the general
public to take a look. It's kind of like an open house invitation.
Any comments? If anyone liked any part of my flyer proposal feel
free to add, alter, and adjust it in any way that would/could make it
better to submit to our Senate. Just my opinion, but I feel that a flyer
like that just might work well.

Salvete quirites!

Unfortunately my motherboard recently gave up the ghost and it took me
quite a while to get enough money to replace it so I haven't been able
to keep in touch:(

I have returned to find the website updated (and now unaccesable!), my
mail box FULL and, most sadly our Consul et Censor, Flavius Vedius
Germanicus departed!

I was deeply upset to hear this news, but I'm sure he had his reasons
and did what he had to do and I hope that we can still carry on and
try to put this behind us, though I'm sure non of us will forget
Germanici and his wonderful contributions and personality.

I am sure that Nova Roma can, and will, survive this upset.

Well, I'm glad to be back online and I'm glad to see you've all been
busy! :)

Since I can't seem to get onto the website, is the Pontifices
board/mail list up and running?

Thank you and vale for now
