Prayers to the Extraction God |

Salvete --
I am, once again, asking for some quick prayers. I am having a tooth
extracted today. Apparently, because of the pregnancy, they will be
giving me Novocaine during and Tylenol afterwards (instead of the 'good'
drugs -- <G>), but the last time I had teeth extracted (my wisdom teeth
-- explains a lot huh??) they gave me some kind of codeine gunk, which
had me sick for 3 days!! I'll be dropping Terry off at day care (more
prayers for me, I don't leave Terry very often and always suffer
separation anxiety, but she always does better at the separation than I
do. Then again she'll have toys and kids to play with and I will have
some putz with a needle and a pair of pliers yanking at my tooth) and
then going into the 'city' where the oral surgeon is. I plan to take it
easy (basically did the fall housecleaning this weekend so it's off my
mind) afterwards and Tuesday, but I'll be checking my email (and laying
on the couch praying Terry doesn't tear the place apart while Mommy is on
the mend).
Anyway it goes, I am not looking forward to the surgery and would be
comforted knowing you are thinking of me (I'd feel more comfortable with
a substitution volunteer -- anyone???).
I'll let you know how it went (as I won't actually have to open my mouth
to talk..LOL)

What a trade-off. Pain...or marathon hurling? Been there, done that, actually
lived through it, so I'm thinking of you and wishing you the best possible
outcome of all this. Do what I do...when he comes at you with the drill, grab
his crotch with your fingernails and say, "hurt me and pay the consequences!"
Amazing how that works.

It is with great pleasure and honor that I formally announce the acceptance of
Iustina Luciania Orbianna into Gens Luciania.
Orbianna has shown herself to be a dear and kind-hearted person with whom I am
pleased to be aquainted. Having been extremely patient with my application
process and in my ability to return e-mail and telephone calls at this time of
year (Samhain), I am pleased to finally be able to announce her membership.
Orbianna has an extensive academic background in the classics and classical

Well, I am one tooth less and in a goodly amount of pain and extremely
tired. I guess it went well, the dentist made some comment along the
lines of "What a big tooth!" once he wrangled the sucker out, making me
feel a bit like the big bad wolf :-) (Claudia, I would have taken your
advice, but this guy was so young, I thought he'd either ask me to marry
him or sue me for sexual harassment!! LOL). The whole thing from
picking up pliers to putting down pliers took about 5 minutes. I didn't
feel it then, but I'm feeling it now!! Terry is at a bit of a loss
because Mommy doesn't want to play, but lies on the couch. I have a nice
big bottle of Tylenol Extra strength and am brewing tea as we speak. I
had a bit of chicken soup that I made myself yesterday, but fed Terry the
chicken. I'm afraid I'm just not very hungry. I know I should eat,
but....... Anyhow, I thank you for the thoughts. I will be taking it
easy tonight and tomorrow. I guess the pain will be less tomorrow, but
there will be some stiffness in my face. I could sure use some pampering
tonight!!!! Somebody spoon feed me!!!!
