Nope, not a student. I was a UD student almost a decade ago, but I
dropped out. Twice. I just live here now. :)
My brother goes to the clubs in Philly all the time, but I don't get
up there too much, even though I keep thinking that I want to take my
kids up to some of the museums.
It would be neat if we could all get together for a Roman thing. :)

Hello All,
Just wanted to tell you all about the Yule Carol at Rockefeller Center
yesterday. About 5 of the 35 confirms showed up! Hey...that's a great
turnout by Pagan standards!
We sang our carols...got a lot of weird looks...some people joined in for a
brief time. And then we all went to a local cafe for coffee and conversation.
All in all it was a fun event!

Question #1: When you say "bad japanese restaurant" do you mean
the food was atrocious or did they lob bombs at you, shouting "Remember
Pearl Harbor"?
Question #2: Did you learn never to go to a sushi bar that has a
TV?
Question #3: You guys are easily amused, aren't you? Or was the
saki the best part of dinner?
Question #4: Why weren't you home brushing up on your
sheetrocking skills? January isn't that far off, you know!
On a more positive holiday note, Pythia's bash was totally
fabulous! I tried to kidnap her caterer, to no avail. The greek
specialties were outstanding. She made the pate herself and I polished
off most of it. The desserts were insanely rich, especially the merengue
cookies filled with chocolate-mint chips and the cheesecake surrounded
by enormous, chocolate-dipped strawberries. And her new Roman bathroom
is to die for.(We guests had a really great time when she wasn't
lookin'!) And her fake tree fooled everybody. The guests were lots of
fun, especially the man who built the Roman bath and whose
nephew-by-marriage is an Elvis impersonator who set up his entire band
on the neighboring lawn last summer.
I highly recommend Pythia's talents as a party-giver.
She should have run for Curule Aedile!

Roman bathroom? Is there anywhere that I could see pictures of it?

Hey, I'm a grad school dropout and just live here in Philly now, so I know
how it goes.

Oh, you'd love the University Museum, (um... University of Pennylvania's
Museum of Anthropology and Archeaology... or vice versa. It's a mouthful).
The museum has a great exhibit for those who appreciate classical art
(hint, hint).
If you ever come up, let me know. We could make a Roman thing out of it :-)

Sure would :-)

That's really awesome, Dex! I'm so sorry I couldn't make it, but Martine's
was fun too :-)

I would have shown up, but it seems my plane ticket got lost in the mail :-(.
