Celebrate History convention |

Over the weekend of 9-11 April 1999 there will be a History
Convention in South San Francisco.
It essentially concerns military history.
There will be re-enactors there for a number of historical
periods. Last year there were groups representing for World War
II, the American Civil War and the Napoleonic Wars. There were
individuals of other periods.
The URL is <a href="http://www.celebratehistory.com/" target="_top" >http://www.celebratehistory.com/</a>
The site is still a bit bare, but I'm told it will pick up around
February.
Are there any Romans who would be able to improve this event by a
few hundred percent by visiting Rome upon it?
The event involves demonstrations by the period military groups,
an art show, panel presentations and discussions and the people
who took part in history. There are also special activities that
cost extra, like the theme USO Canteen Dance they had last year.
There is also some war gaming.
Check out the web site. And think about it.

Propraetor ad Californiam Provinciam.

Salvete iterum!
I found this site on the Celebrate History site
<a href="http://www.celebratehistory.com/cultural.html" target="_top" >http://www.celebratehistory.com/cultural.html</a>
It is from their activities for last year, 1998. You can see it
is not entirely military. Not with a panels titled "The Feminine
Silhouette Through History" and "Underneath It All". Well, that
*is* of Military concern, isn't it?
yours in political incorrectness,
Valete
