What a neat set of lyrics for a most suitable tune. I have copied it,
and although I cannot promise to memorize (getting older you know) I
shall enjoy it hugely. Thanks for the creation and the sharing of it!!!

Not necessarily...since there is ongoing debate on what exactly is Nova
Roma's purposes that pops up every now and then (i.e. the emphasis on
religion or not) that to let individuals "make up" flyers would (in my eyes)
be dangerous.

There is supposed to be downloadable flyers on the website. I, myself,
re-designed a flyer last year that was approved by the Senate, but I never
saw it up on the web page. So I can't say for sure whether or not approved
flyers are available.

But I would venture to say that such should be the case and not made on an
individual basis.

was a Senate approved Flyer.

Salvete Gaius MariusMerrullus at alii

From: Gaius Marius Merrulus;

GMM-Shoud we contact Julianus to get copies?

MMA-I believe that was the intent that Julianus relayed to me when we
didscussed the matter.

GMM-Did the Senate or Consuls ever approve any of those flyers? Luci
Equiti, any senatores listening, do we need to get approval of a flyer
before making it into an ad to be printed somewhere, for instance a copy
of a ollege newspaper?

MMA-No one reviewed the flyers that I sent to the Praetor of California
for use in the Historical event there. I considered that part of my
task as a Quaestor, based upon responses to earlier requests about the
duties of that office.. I have sent a message of explanation and apology
to the Consul. As I read his words on the subject it is his desire to
have all such reviewed at the Consul level, at least, and I shall comply
with his desire.

Nor do I. I've actually written to Gangalius about this, but unfortunately
did it from work where I didn't have much time. I insulted our new web
designer terribly, albeit by accident. (And then made things worse when he
replied to my short and ill-written note!) :(

Since he's probably not talking to me at this point, I would like to publicly
say that I love all the work he's done except dividing the website up into
"frames". (That's the split-screen format which makes a person scroll around
to read even basic info.) Gangalius has been great in volunteering to work on
the website at all, hopefully we can all show him support and, (unlike
myself!) keep unhelpful comments to a minimum as we express likes/dislikes
about the site.

Avete Omnes!

One thing I forgot to add. This Mead Manual is a project I am doing on my
own. It is not an official publication of Nova Roma. I am, basically
giving one of the first One Hundred copies to those who will give a $5.00
donation to Nova Roma. I am asking for $3.00 shipping and handling because
the manual started out as a trifold booklet and I cannot afford to absorb
the entire cost at this time.

Avete Omnes!

If I may. I called up the NR site and cruised through about a third of it
by using the links in the master index. The only horizontal scrolls I saw
were graphics which have had there utility greatly diminished by sizing to
the frame. Otherwise, the text seems to fit the frame nicely. I think we
should give the new look a go for awhile.

I'm not anything like an expert in this filed. More like a barbariculus. But I believe
the thing comes down to -- different computers, different settings, different views. My
puter is barely a year old and the right hand frame is cut by the margin and sometimes the
text is under the pix. There is also the personal preference. When ever I have a choice
of frames/no frames I opt for the later. I also don't care that much for books with fold
out pages unless it is absolutely necessary, like a panoramic photo of the Forum Romanum.
so... there's another two coppers.
