- What I generally do is offer the first forkful of a meal, and a little
drink, with the words: 'Dii propitii' (may the gods be favourable). This is,
I believe, traditional, tho' I can't remember the source of the information
right now. Can anyone else?

The links on my link-menu ('My Roman Life') are now LIVE!! (Just got
home from makin' 'em that way.) I've been busily creating
subdirectories and uploading/editing text files all week...I've got
maybe two dozen fits-and-snatches of things of interest in the various
sections now (I think '/reenacts' is the most populous at the moment),
and more being uploaded almost daily. (There'll be a big batch coming
in once I get all my WordPerfect 5.1 [DOS] essays and stories converted
to HTML; dunno how long that's gonna be, though.)
Right now, if you click on one of the section-links, you'll just get a
directory of the files in that section...but you can access each file
by clicking on it (a pretty standard arrangement for Web file
directories). I do plan eventually to have intro pages for each
section, and enough linking text that the arrangement of files will
make sense. (It's just a matter of finding the time to *write*--!!)
Keep checking back...looks like my Page is adopting the New Mexico
state motto: 'Crescit Eundo'--it grows as it goes!

I haven't come up with any bedtime prayers or lullabies. But, I like your
idea and shall try to come up with something within the next few weeks. If
I come up with anything decent, I'll post it.

Avete Omnes!
I found this in the alt.living.history newsgroup.
Thought it might be of interest to our Canadian Cives.

I've checked the link, it is active.

Salve Amethystia Iunia
I would think that if it's a mother's voice singing a lullaby for her
child, it would certainly be good enough. It's not like you would be
auditioning for the Met or anything, right? I say, do it!
