The late Imperial nobles and officers wore pillbox shaped hats. Good example
can be seen in the gravestone from Gamzigard, or the mosiac from the Pizza
Armernia in Sicily.

Salvete omnes!
At last I have arrived (Well actually I arrived on Thursday but...who
cares!).
For all you European Cives, the US is totally different from ANYTHING you
have ever experienced before!
The roads are BIG and everything is kinda weird LOL
For all you British cives they even drive on the wrong side of the road!!!
Shock horror!!
Anyway I ain't gonnamake this long, just thought I'd let you all know I was
here, a menace to the US! :)

Noct'a you in a odd part of California a.k.a. Los Angelesland. Many laws of the known
universe do not apply in that region. The aspect of sanity is even more lapse there than
in the rest of the California Republic (that's what it says on the flag!}.

Hey! If they're driving on one side of the road OR the other you should consider yourself
lucky. =({[;-)
Welcome, again, Noct'a.
Bene Vale.

Legio VI Victrix spent some time in Spain around 68ish AD, you might want to
visit the home page for the re-enactors of this legion to see if they can
help you out
<a href="http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/TRichardson8/homepage.htm" target="_top" >http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/TRichardson8/homepage.htm</a>
Also Legio X Gemina was garrisoned in Spain at about the same time I
think...they're re-enactor's home page is:
<a href="http://members.tripod.com/Gemina/index.html" target="_top" >http://members.tripod.com/Gemina/index.html</a>
And I see a mention of Legio IV Macedonica as being in Spain as well...
Not a great help :) but it gives you a place to start...
This is all based on some tiny footnotes in 'A History of the Roman World'
by E.T. Salmon...
