The Resignation of Patricia Cassia |

Salvete, omnes.
I am saddened by Patricia's announcement as well. This is one of several
regretable casualties in this civil war, but this is the loss that I will
feel the most. Patricia has been a real trooper. She stepped in to manage
the web site when Germanicus bailed out last September, and she carried the
full load until I volunteered to help her in January. While we worked
together to build up the web team beyond just two individuals, she remained
one of the most productive and dependable members of the team. I hope she
will reconsider.
I hope all of us will pull together to put this unfortunate experience past
us. Let us forgive the wrongs we have suffered, and return to the status
quo ante bellum. As Abraham Lincoln said, let us bind up the nation's
wounds, with malice toward none, with charity for all.
May the Gods preserve the Senate and People of Nova Roma.

When did roma_tertia come into play? When did everyone know about it? Why was
it called into play? What happened to Nova Roma?
I'm really confused. Can someone fill me in?

Salvete, omnes.
Now that novaroma@-------- has been restored, I believe that
roma_tertia@-------- no longer serves a useful purpose. I wish to join
with all Novaromani in restoring the status quo ante bellum, and in the
present circumstances, I believe the continued existence of

live it through tape-delay. Nova Roma is back, and that's what counts.

Gee, how many civies were as confused as this one when the list
disappeared without so much as a F-U?
Time for a little venting ........
Yea, I'm still upset over the whole thing. Nova Roma was killed,
then it's back, and so few knew anything about it. May the gods
forbid, but if it ever happens again, I for one hope it will be done
with a great deal more respect than was shown the 'lurker'.
My faith was shaken when Germanicus left and it is once again
shaken. Not in the gods, but in the system. I thought the higher-
ups in Nova Roma cared about me. They showed some respect as
individuals, but not much governmentally (I got plenty of private
emails upon Lapis arrival ... but not a single word typed or spoken
on behalf of the government of Nova Roma. It was pretty
depressing, and it really hurt my feelings let me tell you). I told
myself that the gifts, words and caring given by individuals within
the NR government spoke for all the government. I can be pretty
good at self delusion.
So now what? Please tell me we aren't going back to the way it
was before. I know I was told a little in the chatroom last night, but
that was still speculation.
What about the people who got their citizenship revoked over this
crap? Is all 'normal' again? What about the people who were hurt.
Hopefully no one, mind full of this coup business, got into, say, a
car accident. Shock can be a terrible thing.
I will continue my Sodalis Pro Pax, although so far only 2 people
have shown any interest in it. One of them is 'governmental' but
not in any way involved in the latest go rounds. If nothing else it
will make ME feel good.
I saw my Back Alley turned into almost a liferaft and, quite frankly,
didn't appreciate it one little bit although I was glad there was
SOME vehicle for communication once the 'OFFICIAL list' was
yanked with NO warning to anyone! Maybe if someone had said
something.................
I have a list of people I considered friendly enough to invite to a
wedding reception Don and I were planning for this November
(hopefully). Now I don't even know who I'm friends with and who I'm
NOT friends with. I suppose I'll just see who even acknowledges
the invitation email. If you receive one and don't plan to come to it,
have enough respect to at least tell me F-U so I know one way or
another. Do that much for me, huh?
I will stick with this Nova Roma as I did the last. I will dedicate
myself to the Children and the Pax. As I have ALWAYS done.
Hopefully I will still recognize the place after this 'Civil War'.
Amethystia Iunia Crystallina (NOW I can move on!)
Gaius Cornelius Mamertinus and Amethystia Iunia-Cornelia Crystallina

Salve, Crys.
For the record, Kyrinia e-mailed me privately and I responded to her
privately. Because she inststed, I gave her my version of events, stated
quite clearly that it was *my* version, and also urged her to seek other
versions of events in order to arrive at something close to the truth.
I also take this opportunity to thank you once again, this time in the venue
of the Nova Roma list, for providing the life raft for liberty. You have
done Nova Roma a great service, and you deserve the praise and gratitude of
the Senate and People.

Yes, Nova Roma _should_ be bigger than any handful of members, but as long as a concentrated clique of originating members held all the key positions there was always a danger of the I'm-taking-my-ball-and-going-home syndrome occurring.

As a primary plan I would suggest all current holders of imperium should try to contact each other as soon as possible (using the e-mail info on the NR website, before somebody pulls the plug completely) to organise a united and co-ordinated call for the return NR government. Mass e-mails from the general populace may be counter-productive at this stage.

If those in authority do not have the staying power to finish the job they started, then they should stand aside and let it be continued by those whom their original dream and vision have attracted to the organisation.

Salve
I think I NEED to remind a lot of people of
#1some people have did in some time past formed a CORPORATION
called Nova Roma in the USA , they said this was for nontax stuff
#2 in USA law the members of that CORP'S board of directors
are the ones who are in complete control of NOVA ROMA as far as the LAW
goes.
#3 if they want too they can sue us ALL,
#4 I did not know about this here war,but if the people who started the
corp say can so none of us are in NR as far as the US law would say.
#5 my phone # is 503-234-7133 call anytime about NR stuff ,no toll calls
thanx
#6 I have send the Britannaia list to all other lists so the
North Am , and The UK can still talk to the other
#7 in this time WE all need to THINK AND TALK TO SAVE NOVA ROMA.
