Subject: Re: Nettiquette - My apologies
From: "LegionXXIV" LegionXXIV@--------
Date: Sun, 8 Aug 1999 14:52:07 -0400
My apologies to you and those on the List.
I forgot that this browser auto-copies
the sent message on replies. Thanks for
your reply. I will take care in the future to avoid
sending unnecessary volume to the List.
I was responding to Germanicus' posting as a joke.

I have been bit by this auto-copy in the past and I
am trying to disable it. I do not normally repeat
e-mail messages back to the sender and that is one
of the problems on the "List". Too many repeated
postings.

I was off the list for a time because I got weary of
the volume of postings, which for me, had little
interest.
Now I am guilty of doing what I objected to.

I have valued your commentary on the "List", but it was
swamped by the ongoing glut of back and forth politics,
"he said that" and "I'm offended by whatever".
I was spending a good part of an hour, at times,
wending thru it all.

The Legion XXIV website at
http://www.legionxxiv.org is coming along nicely.
The "links" page is quite comprehensive, it even
mentions you!

Again, sorry for the breach of Nettiquette and as
always I remain;

Yours in the Comradship of the Republic of Rome

Gallio Velius Marsallas - Legion XXIV.

Salve!

Perhaps you would be so kind in the future, when advising your fellow NR
citizens of the most efficient browser to use, to kindly snip your posts and
not quote the entire digest in your reply.

Tibi gratias ago!

There is a Religio Classico equivalent of "Murphy", though it might be a collegium, that I
can't quite remember at the moment. It obviously was at play with you server and server
message. =({[;-) Ain't it fun? [I'd also like a Latin equivalent of that, BTW.]

Felicitas!

Salvete, Quirites et aliensis! C. Aelius Ericius, Propraetor ad Californiam Provinciam
greets you and hopes the day finds you well.

It is my pleasure to announce that I have appointed Quintus Fabius Maximus as my Legatus
in the Greater Los Angeles Regio. Q. Fabius Maximus has myriad skills and the energy to
match. One project he will take on is getting some solid information on the Pompeii
exhibit that is going to open at the Los Angeles Museum of Art in October. (The initial
information having been acquired from the post I. Ovidia Luna sent to this list on 3 Aug.)

Please extend your congratulations and felicitations to Q. Fabius Maximus Legatus.

Di Deaque te mihi semper ament.
Bene Valete.

C. Aelius Ericius.
