Salvete,
Merlinia has touched on an important point here... the more "face to face"
meeting that Nova Roma is able to have, the less general misunderstandings
and hard feelings there are likely to be. Hopefully as NR grows there will be
much more local stuff happening on the Provincia level.
Hopefully folks living in the New Jersey area can take her up on her generous
offer. She makes GREAT Roman food... wish I could be there myself! ;)
Since there is obviously no "central place" where it would be convenient for
ALL Citizens to meet, Atlantic City isn't a bad start. Patricia and I could
almost certainly attend such an event, depending on timing. Anyone else?

We have an old saying. Whoever isn't at the meeting,
gets to be Autocrat.
Seriously,I think a lot of N.R.'misinterpretation'
of other N.R.s would go away once they work together,
Face to Face.(by the way, It's been GREAT lately)
these computers are a fabulous way to learn & grow,
but they DO NOT BEAT PHYSICAL MEETINGS. Even a 'phone
is superior.
I live in New Jersey, USA and I Think more of us
live around here, but I'm not sure. If you would check
the Forum message board, I have posted some info
as to my qualifications in running a meeting,(I
call them 'events'). I also know of some small and
large sites to hold them in, if there are more than
6 responding. If not, we can fit in my domus, dinner
and all.
Another thought-(granted, it would cost each of us
us some money)How about meeting at Caesar's Palace
in Atlantic City --I await your coments. --M.

Salvete,
Believe it or not, that's not *terribly* far from me, as I live in the capital
district of New York state.... I think my problem would be when it is, and can
I afford to make such a long trip down there.
Had I still been living at home with my parental units, it would be much
easier, as we're only 1/2 an hour away from the NJ-NY border.
When is it?

This episode looks at the evolution of Roman politics, from the Gracchi to
Septimius Severus.

Salve,
Does anyone know of any where I could buy reproductions of ancient
Roman armour and clothes, and if they have a catalog.
Thanks,

I know that L. Marius Fimbria will come in with her contribution on the high quality, etc.
end, and the list of sources that Leg VI has been passing around. On the quick and dirty
side od acquisition there is Museum Replicas. There is much to say against them, but they
are an Easy source. Just type < museumreplicas.com > into your location bar and it'll
take you there. Their website has a bit less than their catalog, but if you buy something
from them you'll get their catalog until Rome rules the world again.
Bona Fortuna.

When I go to your AWOTV page it has the listings for *July 5-11*. I remember the site
from a while ago and it was great fun. As was the today in the ancient world page. It is
obviously under construction, but those July listings make me wonder about when the site
will be up and running again. Could you give an estimate?

Salvete.
Here is another book to keep an eye out for, for those of you interested in the military.
Trajan's Column
A New Edition of the Cichorius Plates
Introduction, Commentary and Notes
by Frank Lepper and Sheppard Frere
(Alan Sutton; Gloucester, UK and Wolfboro, NH/ 1988)
ISBN 0-86299-467-5
It was 25 pounds UK on dust jacket. I got it from Barnes and Noble back then.
Once again I suggest bibliofind searches if it is hard to find.
You can look at All of the spiraling relief, including those mysterious engines at the
siege.
