How about Yapper? No, that isn't good for a terrier, more for a

Salvete Omnes,
There seems to be some disquiet here that the current elections are essentially one-horse races.
I might be (probably am) misunderstanding, but was L. Anneus Laurentius' post to the forum message board on August 26th intended as a declaration of candidacy?

In my opinion, the 'nay' decision is somewhat unfair, as Germanicus says.
But at least there should be a 'no vote' option. In this way, we would have
a measure of the popular support to the candidate.

Salvete,
I had a Cairn once (and then my wife got one, and then eventually there
were LOT'S of them and then she ran off to Europe and I was left with a
houseful of little Cairns), and they are delightful, tough, spunky little
creatures. Mine was named MacGregor, but I think Pilum would be a very
apt name indeed. Nothing stopped him. As a puppy, I watched him scale a
wire fence like a Marine going up a cargo net. Plopped over the top and
stood there laughing at me for thinking I could fence him in.

Yeah.I have to admit that Pilum sounds better than my previous choices.
It really says something that nothing else does, and it is short.

Salvete,
I was just wondering where the notion that one of the two consuls holds the
position of "senior consul" came from. While it might have been a
distinction made in Roma Antiqua (and may be something we might want to
incorporate eventually), our system doesn't distinguish between senior and
junior consuls or any other sort of magistrate. Is he senior because he is
more forceful in the expression of his wishes? Because he has a bigger
mouth? Because he's older than the other consul? Because he calls himself
senior consul? I think we're better off not embellishing any titles...

Well, I understand that the Theudish Anglo-Saxon
micronation is also headquartered in New York, led by
Garm, Aetheling and Cyning. First New York, then
Brittania I suppose. We may have to mobilize the

The Winland Rice' of Theodish Belief is indeed headquartered in NY,
Watertown to be most specific. Garm is a being from Nordic mythology, the
hound of Hel who is said will slay Tyr at the Ragnarok. But, Garman Lord
Geringas is Aetheling and Cyning of the Winland Rice'. As a sworn Friend of
Garman and his people, I believe that I can speak with a little authority
(and this is MY opinion only) that so long as Nova Roma does not initiate
warfare, the Theodsmen will leave the Romans alone. (BTW, there are now
several tribes within the Rice - both full fledged and aborning, [Theod
being Anglo-Saxon for Tribe.] New Normandie in Nova Eboracum, New Frisia in
Minneapolis, the Wednesburgians in Missouri, and so forth. Plus many
Theodsmen and women who are sworn to one Lord or another and live all over
the map.
I had the honor of guesting with the Theodish Cyning and some of his people
for their Midsumarsdaeg celebration. Garman has been steadfast to the
reawakening of this branch of the broader Indo-European heritage for 30
years and more. His people are likewise dedicated and very serious about
their religion. I learned more about living mine own Asatru in spending a
week amongst Theodish folk than I had in the previous seven years of book
learning.
Perhaps when all of our organizations get bigger, we can have some battle
recreations.
But, for now, I think we need to forget the old animosities, within and
without Rome, and get on with the business of the Reawakening.

So what is it with the Awakening and the new
Millenium? First, it doesn't even start until
1/1/2001. Second, if you base it on Jesus, he was born
before 4 BC, so the millenium came and went a few
years ago. Third, according to the Olympiads and the
Roman calendar (not to mention the Islamic, Jewish,
and Chinese calendars--among others), we're not even
close to a new millenium.
