To; L.Coreliua Sulla;

My dear sir;

My platform was enclosed in my original list of credits, which was
posted to the List, the Censors and to the Consuls for review. I am
sure either Consul or Censor could provide such to you. However,
knowing how busy the Censors are these days, I should be most peased to
send you a secon copy. I believe everyone else on the list has a copy
already.

Anyone else who would like another copy of my credits and platform just
give me the word, and I will be happy to send it again.

Thank you L. Cornelius Sulla (voter) for your interest in this political
campaign.

Respectfully

Salvete! There are actually only two candidates for the office of praetor:
Marcus Minucius Audens and Q. Fabius Maximus. The third person, Gaius
Iunius Germanus informed us privately that he was dropping out of the
race.

I have just recieved the information that you have dropped out of the
race, and I wanted to tell you, how much I regret that action. I do not
question your reasons of course, but I am disappointed that we will not
have the opportuity to discuss issues and to get to know each other
better. I hope that you will consider running for Quaestor next year,
or other office as you wish. I shall miss your involvement!!

To Consul Sulla;

Sir: I am greatly flattered by your most kind comments in regard to my
suitaibility for the magistry in which I am campaigning. Your words
combined with the words of the other Consul are good to hear. I pledge
to you and to all Nova Romans to do my very best to justify those kind
words and steadfast support. Your comments as well as the Senior
Consul's words are very valuable to me, since your combined experience
in the Cursus Honorium is quite extensive and meaningful. I have also
recieved the support from the two previous Consuls Marcus Cassius
Julianus, and Lucius Equitus Cinncinnatus as well, in fact it was thier
urging that I should undertake this campaign, and I wish to thank all of
you for your kindness and faith in my efforts and capabilities.

Good morning from Brussels,

Thank you very much for your detailed response.

>Vado, is such a person, and
>he is always willing to help a fair damsel in distress!!!!!!!!
Yes, and he has :-)

>There is a great deal more, and most of it is listed on the NR Website

> >will be answered there. Welcome to NR.
I have been readin a lot from the NR website, but need to read quite a bit
more. I find the website extremely informative. I especially liked your
ritual honoring your adopted ancestors and had a few of my non-pagan and
(and pagan) friends read it and they enjoyed it as well.
I think the "charm" of it was that you said that you said that you weren't a
Pagan,but the great respect was there for Roman Gods, none the less.
Anyway,it's back to work (it's hard to write when people keep peeping over
one's shoulder :-)

Salvete,

Not to assume Venator has them all ... <G>. I am looking for
recipes that are Roman or sort of Roman. I am beginning my
Saturnalia cookbook build (and other holidays Roman) and have
lost most of the old recipes in the last 2 moves. I still have Venii's
mead manual, but I cannot for the life of me remember how he told
me to make the beverages non-alcoholic (can't have the whole
family running around sloshed, can I?).

Web pages, recipes, well wishes are all accepted. I am posting
this to both Nova Roma and Via Trames as I figure there is at least
a snowballs chance that someone on the main list is at least
mildly interested in Roman Food <G>.

Salvete, Citizens of NR;

As most of you know,, I am standing for the position of Praetor of NR.
As a magistrate, I will be responsible with my co-Praetor for the
long-term plan of the Law in NR. ,The furtherence of that plan during my
tenure,will be a responsibility that I take on proudly. All this as
well as providing the new Praetor's to be elected in January with a
cohesive plan for thier consideration. Hopefully this plan will embody
the needs and input of the Citizens of NR..

It strikes me that some of the best ideas for these building blocks for
the "Grand Plans" of Magistrates, who are priveleged to be awarded
Imperium,,comes from the citizanry of NR herself. I have already had a
small trickle of suggestions in the above respect, and the information
recieved is both thought-provoking and valuable.

I ask you, very respectfully, to review the duties of the Praetors in
the Constitution, and with those clearly in mind, message me as to your
ideas for building a plan for the Law in NR.

--What are your particular desires / needs/
--What areas of the Law do you consider deserve the attention of our
limited resources, and which areas in your estimation can wait;
--What comments would you have for me as a candidate, and what would you
have me do for you?
--List your concerns with the system, together with your ideas about how
to deal with them in a way that will satisfy your needs..

I have my own ideas regarding this area of endeavor, but I am aware that
if the citizens are not given the opportunity to share ideas, and
proposals that there will always be some negative thoughts. The
Dictatorship has been laid to rest and it has served the purpose in
broad terms for which it was instituted..Your ideas, comments, and
suggestions reign supreme today. I guarantee that I will give due
consideration to each individual's ideas and incorporate those that I
can into an overall plan to be utilized as a guideline for the remainder
of this year. I hope also to use this input to formulate a report to
let you, the citizens of NR, know what your collective thoughts are in
this area. I hope that you will contact me and share your ideas.

I thank you for your time and your kind attention to this post;

Valete, Citizens of NR;
Very Respectfully;
Marcus Minucius Audens

I don't believe there is one yet. The only time I can see having one at

Subject: Survey
From: "RCW" alexious@--------
Date: Thu, 30 Sep 1999 22:21:52 -0700
Salvete Omnes.....

Very shortly (within a week) each individual on the Nova Roma main list will receive a survey. This survey will be about your opinions of Nova Roma. What you think the problems Nova Roma is facing, and how you think we can go about correcting them....and what are your goals and objectives you have for Nova Roma...and just what objectives you feel Nova Roma should focus on. This survey will not be a multiple choice survey, this will be something that I hope takes some time in pondering before I get them back.

There are a couple of reasons I want to get some feedback..... First and foremost most of us have given alot of time to Nova Roma. Our presence in this micronation shows how important Nova Roma is for us....but, given all the recent goings on, I think we all feel Nova Roma is starting to get on track, and to keep that focus we need input to help guide and direct us to make certain that we make Nova Roma, the great micronation and organization that we all know it can become. Secondly, I have told all my friends in Nova Roma, am trying to get Nova Roma in the proper footing I believed she should have been since January. So I am asking everyone on the E-list, since we all have a vested interest, lets see what your magistrates can do for you to make your Nova Roma a better place. Finally, Nova Roman Magistrates need to know what needs to be focused on. Without input from you, our citizens, we are essentially left in the dark.

I believe in a responsive, dedicated and active government. Many of the things I have learned in my Political Science degree I am trying to put into practice to help build a better serving government in Nova Roma. This survey is another attempt to make the government of Nova Roma more responsive to the people who, ultimate are sovereign.

Long live the Res Publica and may all of our Gods continue to bless Nova Roma.

Lucius Cornelius Sulla
Consul
