Salve, Gaius Marius Merullus;

Not to worry!!! It was as big a surprise to me as it was to anyone
else. I originally visited the hospital for a bone scan, and was told
not to leave, as the scan confirmed an infection of the bone. I had to
stay to have a pump-line installed in an artery, and I am ow home, with
the pump merrily pumping away, stuffing my little self full of
anti-biotics every 6 hours. This will last for the next six weeks, and
then a second bone scan will be conducted to see how things are going.
I'm not sure what the alternative is if it doesn't get better, but I am
sure that the doctor will tell me in great detail, as the weeks go by.

I am involved in Physical therapy 3 times a week for the resyt of the
month, that combined with weekly vists to the doctor, and ome other
activities at the hospital (nutrition classes, eye exam, ortho exams,
shoe fitting, etc.) my next six to eight weeks will be well filled. I'm
also supposed to stay off my feet as much as possible, but none of my
medical peers have managed to tell me how to accomplish that with all
the other stuff, going on. Oh, I am being a very good boy about
following directions, but I am finding to an increasing degree that ny
ideas are often as good as the doctors, and so I am pursuing some
medical research as well.

In regard to the Uxbridge Hotel, that I spoke about, Dec. 11-12 would be
fine with me. The Motel name is the Quaker Motel, just outside of
Uxbridge, Mass. It is a nice place, with very nice people. There are
some nice restaurants in the area, it is within easy driving distance
for myself and Olivia Luna, our North Providence friend. The Motel has
a seperate room that we could probably use for a meeting on Saturday,
and we could visit in the rooms or in restaurants nearby in the evening.

I would open this invitation to all who wished to come from NR, and
visit with us. Those who are in the Northeast, of course, will be the
most likely to attend, if only for the transportation / distanxce
consideration. Other than that there certainly is not any restriction.
If I have missed someone, inadvertantly, please conyact me, and let me /
us know of your interest..

I will be attending "pump and all" of course and will have to spend
Saturday Evening at home, but will plan to drive up again on Sunday.
Let me know what you think.

Vale Marcus Minucius Audens;.

So glad to hear everything's alright with your bones, Audens. :-) Be well!

Hey, that's only about 15 miles from me -- I'm game! I'll be sure to be
available whenever y'all decide to do this. btw, if anyone wants me to
calculate mileage, get directions, etc. I have a Rand McNally Tripmaker
program which works pretty well. You can also get maps from Yahoo and
other places, although I don't always rely on them.
