Salvete Citizens of Nova Roma:
This is a message of information for all ciizens interested in buying a
subscription to the Nova Roma Eagle. The subscription fee, which is
$12.00 annually, a change which was made several months ago by the
previous Eagle Editor, before I accepted the position, is the current
rate.
The fee rate for an Eagle subscription has unfortunately never been
changed on the Nova Roma website to reflect this new fee, and thanks to
my new Web Equipment installation in the last weeks, I made that
discovery, Since that time I have asked the Nova Roma WebMaster and the
current Censors to make that change.
The problem is that I have four checks for the previous rate ($5.00
annually) in my current possession. I will not name the individuals
herein, but as I am sure that you know who you are, please let me know
what you wish to do from the following option list:
--I will provide the remaining $7.00 for an annual subscription and
start that subscription with the November Issue of Eagle;
--Return my check for $5.00 and forget the whole thing;
--Send me back copies from August, September, October and credit me with
two more months of Eagle (November and December);
--Begin my five month subscription with the November Issue.
I sincerely hope that you will all continue with Eagle. I greatly
regret my inability to survey the Web-Page due to equipment break-up and
not find this gliche until just recently.
The November Issue of Eagle will feature the latest information about
the Religio Romano, announcements about the government actions taking
place in the last month, and a feature article on the structure of Roman
Houses in Roman Britain. A news feature of the new archaeology
discoveries in Alexandria, Egypt is also included. Get your
subscription in today, and be the first one on your block to read about
the wonders of ancient Egypt buried for centuries beneath the waters of
Alexandria Harbor!!

It's a shame that the Europa/Britannia Nova Roma
members are forgotten in these types of
conversations. Is there anyone interested in a
Nova Roman trip to Rome?

Forgotten? No! It would be a wonderful thing if Nova Romans from various
parts of the world could get together on an international basis. It's just
not a subject that gets brought up much because the sad reality is that most
of us can't afford the cost of such travel.
Patricia Cassia and I are seriously thinking about making a trip to Britain
this coming spring... Northumbria and London. Just the airfare alone is going
to cost us $550 US per person. Travel to Rome is more than twice that per
person, and the cost of hotels food and such would be higher as well. I
certainly wouldn't be up for a meeting in Rome in 2000, or even the year
after.
If we do get to Britain it'd be great if at least we could meet some of the
Citizens we've come to know a little online! Perhaps plans can be made once
details of the trip are finalized.
Short of that, I believe that the folks in Britain have already done what
we're just starting to do now in New England... holding local meetings and
events. Even if international meeting is a bit prohibitive at this stage,
local contact is certainly possible within each Provincia. :)
Vale,
Marcus Cassius Julianus

Here it is, Audens.
<a href="http://www.archeologia.com/roman_navy/dannosong.html" target="_top" >http://www.archeologia.com/roman_navy/dannosong.html</a>
I think it's a fairly decent variation of the Garyowen.
"...we sail with Danno to glory" or
...We sail with Erici to glory" or
"...We sail with Audens to glory."
It all works. [hehehehe]
Ericus.
