Subject: Foreign Gods
From:

Salvete!

I'm working on a New Research Article for my website
(<a href="http://members.xoom.com/RomaImperia/RomaImperia" target="_top" >http://members.xoom.com/RomaImperia/RomaImperia</a>) about the worship of
foreign gods within Rome and the Roman Empire. From my reading I have
extrapolated that in addition to the traditional gods of Rome (Iupiter, Iuno,
Mars, ect...) that many gods from outside Rome were worshipped. Some authors
on Roman History have stated that Osiris the Egyptian god for the harvest was
the most popular of the many foreign gods worshipped by Roman citizens. It
has also been stated many times that Mithras was a faviorite of Roman
soldiers. What I'm primarily interested in are other foreign gods that were
popular among Roman citizens and any temples that may have been built, within
Rome, in dedication to those gods.

Valete,

Iulius Thompsonus

Hello all!
We should come up with a few different meeting
times in the Taverna.

My cat and I have gone to the Taverna 5 or 6
times only to find that we just missed somebody!
And poor me, all day I was curled up on a cushion
drinking wine all by my lonesome self with only
the cat for company (and he took a nap). I
finally staggered up and waddled home :-)

Suggestions anyone?
Bright Blessings,
Diana

Salve, Diana: I just missed you in the Taverna by a very few minutes on
Friday; it is a shame there aren't more official meeting times for
civites.....this would better accommodate the different time zones and
varying work schedules of us all. I'm not sure which individual in
particular looks after the "taverna"....maybe they'll read this
message....Vale and Blessings, Pompeia Cornelia Strabo...

Hi Pompeia!
Sorry that I missed you! I'll keep popping my
head in the Taverna and see if you are there.

Diana (8:30 AM and already drinking wine in the
Taverna :-)

Sulla: Well that wont be corrected for a bit. I am still awaiting responses
from some Paters and Mater's. Once I get the necessary feedback then I can
complete it. Basically I am at a standstill until I get responses.
