Does the "Patronus et Clientus" system exist in New Rome as it did in Ancient
Rome?

How are you coming to that conclusion?

Oh sorry....I am not aware that NR has espoused the patron/client
relationship. :)

Salve,
I don't think we have such a system here. At this point there is probably
little a patron could offer a client, and I think most people on this
list are unlikely to subordinate themselves to another that way. We seem
to be an independent, hard-headed lot.
Vale,
L. Sergius Aust.

Salve: I have found another site which may be of some interest to my fellow citizens, especially those who collect coins of ancient Rome, as I do. I believe that the people who put together this site have really done their homework. It deals with the last few years of the Republic, and then moves into the Empire continuing past the collapse of the West and into the continuing Eastern Empire. I hope you all find this as interesting as I have. You won't be able to digest it all at one sitting. (If you can, then I will be really surprised.) I hope you enjoy it and find it useful to your studies of the Rome we all love. Vale: ... Appius Marcellus Cato

Salvete Appi Marcelle et alii
Thank you very much for that interesting url! And here's one back at you:
<a href="http://artemis.austinc.edu/acad/cml/rcape/vcrc/catalog-list.html" target="_top" >http://artemis.austinc.edu/acad/cml/rcape/vcrc/catalog-list.html</a>
It's the virtual catalog of Roman coins. Much of the same stuff in both
places, but the virtual catalog focuses more on the coins themselves than
the magni who issued them. It appears, to my silly eye anyway, that the
virtual catalog may be a little more rigorously maintained than the monetary
history site. But two sources are better than one, right?
