Salvete Romans!
Lately, since our election in December in fact, I've seen a worrying
amount of apathy among the populous of our young Republic. I understand that
I hold no official position in Nova Roma other than citizen, but I can see
that, if we have any sort of aspirations of becoming a great nation, it will
be absolutely necessary for us all to work towards that end. Power
struggles and petty bickering about taxation and the like will only serve to
plunge us into further and more damaging civil wars! We need unity and
solidarity, we must work together, and we must contribute more to the
workings of the nation (even if you don't hold elected office, there are many
other ways to contribute) in order to make this Republic something more than
simply an on-line role-playing game.
It is for this reason that I have decided to send this message to you
all; first of all, I would like to ask you what are all of your dreams for
Nova Roma? Where should we go? What should we do? What, exactly is Nova
Roma.... isn't it more than a game?
I would also like to tell you what my dream is:
Nova Roma is a beautiful concept, Her founders gave us an outlet for our
love of an already long-dead nation, they gave us a place to worship our
Gods, and they set up an accurate and orderly system in which to do these.
If we can unite under the banner of The Senate and The Roman People, our
Republic will live long and spread the beauty and majesty of western culture,
lawful and organized government, and its many complex and wonderful religions
and spiritualities.
This is what I see for Nova Roma...what do you all think ? :)
