Ave Pompeia!

I had sent an e-mail applying for membership in the Sodalitas Militarivm, but haven't heard any news since. Did you get it or shall I re-send?

I'm really looking forward to being part of this. Thanks so much!

Vale bene,
Lucilla

Salve,

Try looking at teh Roman Painted House in Dover, England. *If I recall
correctly* it is one of teh few Roman sites (in England) that is as complete
as it is along with murals adn other such wall decoarations (or something
like that). *I also believe* it should be on teh National Trust registry.
I have slides and photos but nothing is scanned in.

Hmmmm did I even spell that right? Tis early and I have yet to imbibe the
nectar of the gods, coffee.
I am sure this bit of information is just sitting out in plain sight on
the website, and I am yet again staring straight at it and not seeing it ,as
I am wont to do. So at great risk of looking the -total- fool, I shall ask.
In my personal life, I am greatly embroiled in religion. While my own
brand is not strictly what I would call that of Roma, it fits well enough
that I am very interested in learning more about it. Consequently, I am very
much looking forward to finding the proper contact media for those also so
interested.
Kindly do point me to the correct place 'pon yon website, or if I am IN
such a place, do but tap me gently on the shoulder, wake me up and inform me.
My apologies for asking such a simple question in open forum, berate at
will if you like. Molto grazie... ugh.. thats Italian. One of these days
the effects of living in Toscana for three years will wear off.. and I'll be
normal again..... Ha! Had to be normal first methinks....

Salve, Iona S. Britaega;

Wander no more!! The Pontiff Maximus of the Roma Religio is Marcus
Cassius Julianus (Cassius22@--------) He is the titular head of the
Collegio of Pontiffs. You may discuss your religious matters withhim
and he will be able to direct you to the ares in Roman Religio best
suited to your views.

I would be honored to assist you further as I may, but considering that
I am Christian, I leave that to your choice. Welcome to Nova Roma and
to our micronation.

You may find some preliminary information for your interests on the Nova
Roma Webpage (www.novaroma.org).

Vale, Respectfully;
Marcus Audens

Salvete,

Just wanted to post some more information in regard to this. While I am happy
to answer any questions or inquiries addressed to me, such questions can also
be addressed to the entire College of Pontiffs. The address for the entire
Collegium Pontificum is: pontifices@-------- Any of us is fully capable
of assisting, and many of the Collegium members are in fact more skilled in
such things than I am! ;)

Valete,

Marcus Cassius Julianus
on behalf of the Collegium Pontificum

Subject: [novaroma] ATTN (Religio Romana): ante diem III Kalendas Sextilias (July 31st)
From: "Antonio Grilo" <amg@-------->
Date: Mon, 31 Jul 2000 17:17:45 +0100
Salvete omnes

I was not available yesterday, and so here is the religious posting.

**************************************************
This is one of the dies comitiales (C), when committees of citizens can vote
on political or criminal matters.

Today is the Dies Natalis of the temple of Fortuna Huiusce Diei (Fortune of
This Day), dedicated by Q. Lutazius Catulus after the battle of Vercelli in
101 BCE, which brought the invasion of the Cimbri to an end. The temple was
round and it had a statue of Tyche/Fortuna brought from Greece.

The month of Quinctilis was renamed Iulius in 44 BCE in honour of the
deified C. Iulius Caesar. This month is sacred to Iuppiter.

Pax Deorum vobiscum

Antonius Gryllus Graecus
Pontifex
