Anna Louise Peterson aka Antonia Mauricia Quintilia was born 6:37 on 1/11/1.
She and her mother ( A non-Roman pagan but I'm working on it ) are both
doing fine for which I am very grateful to Juno Lucina et al who accepted my
offerings and gave us a near perfect birth. I look forward to using what
free time I will now have to join in the effort to make America Borr. an
active province.

Ave,
Thanks to an addition by Senator M. Octavius, our new citizenship
applications include a section on where people have heard about Nova
Roma. Well, all of a sudden we started, in the past few days, getting a
rash of citizenship applications from Italy. On a couple of them I have
seen that they have heard about Nova Roma from Radio and TV stations.
So I asked a couple of potential citizens about this. They told me that
there was a Radio Station that did a show about websites about ancient
Roma. They mentioned us in there!!! :) I just wanted to share this
wonderful news with everyone! I am trying to get more information
about just what was said...as soon as I get more information I will pass
it along.
Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix
Censor of Nova Roma

Ave censore,
have you an estimation on my admisson as a citizen ?
I am in contact with our propraetor (of Brasilia) and
he thought of me for being his legate in Sao Paulo.
Obviously for this I first need to become a citizen.
Respectfully

[novaroma] Nuntium Candidaturae Aediliciae |

M. Apollonius Formosanus Tribunis Plebis, Magistratibus Senioribus,
Senatui et praesertim Omnibus Quiritibus Salutem Plurimam Dicit.
I, Marcus Apollonius Formosanus, stand here before you in the
Comitium of the Forum Romanum clad in toga candidata to announce my
candidature for the position of Aedilis Plebis Novae Romae.
My filius Sextus Apollonius Draco recently stood for this magistracy
and was regrettably debarred due to his age. I trust that the
Apollonius now before you will, by virtue of his grizzled beard, not
meet the same objection!
I also trust that those who are fervent proponents of the Cursus
Honorum will find this candidacy more pleasing than my former one for
Praetor - even if it is not for Quaestor. :-)
All of you know my political views and vision for Nova Roma from the
many position papers I prepared for my very recent candidature for
Praetor. Basically, I am very concerned that every civis of every
variety should have his or her civil and human rights guaranteed in
depth through appropriate laws, orderly judicial system, and
effective popular and tribunician vigilence. I am also desirous, as a
proud plebeian myself, to see the Common People of Nova Roma come to
take up their proper and traditional constitutional rôle and organise
themselves to enjoy the collective rights of their Order in full
measure.
Some have mistakenly implied that to love one's Plebeian Order and
wish to see it stand strong and proud in all its dignitas is to
somehow hate the Patrician Order. That is a very divisive point of
view, and in no way reflects *my* thinking. Our essentially one and
united Res Publica in the true Roman fashion is divided in many ways
- into Orders, Tribes, Curiae, Gentes, Provinciae, and Centuries.
Thise divisions and articulations serve to give form to what would
otherwise be a relatively amorphous mass, and thus to strengthen it.
If the Plebs is properly organised and led by its leaders in due and
traditional form, their vigilence will be a bulwark for the rights
and dignitas of all cives, including Patricii. And if there is mutual
respect between the Orders, there can be dialogue fruitful for the
interests of our whole Commonwealth.
It is on that basis, Quirites, that I stand before you today and
request your support at the Cista.
Vivat Nova Roma Libera et Iusta!
Dii nostram Rempublicam bene ament!

Salvete omnes...
Scripsit Octavius:
: If someone will send me a list of tribe names and which numbers they
: correspond to, I can add the name to each citizen's Album Civium
: page. This change would be for display purposes only -- internally,
: the database and the voting software would continue to use the
: numbers.
While we're about it, could the Album Civium be gotten to show whether
the Citizen's tribe is an Urban or a Rural Tribe...? This would allow
Cives who have voted recently to make sure they are now properly
(re)classified.
I do miss the names. I used to be in rural tribe Scaptia, but since my
readmission I've had only a number to work with, not a name.
Thank'ee!

Done.

I'll do this reclassification after receiving authorization from
the Censors. I already have the list of voter codes.

I can get those names in as soon as someone sends me the list, and
which number corresponds to which name.
Vale, Octavius.
