I found this website through my Latin teacher and I
must say it is quite impressive. This is my first year
of studying the Latin language in depth (I went to a
Catholic school which taught us prayers and a few
introduction words in Latin.) I have always admired
the Romans for their ways of living, government, and
poets/storytellers: Hopefully, I'll someday be able
memorize all of the case endings ;) Well, that's all I
can think of to say for now.

Great idea! Would it be feasible to have the profiles of the consuls on
the coins (or at the very least, their names)?

If this were actually to become an ongoing annual series, we might well
generate some interest among serious coin collectors, thus establishing
our identity among another group worldwide.

While not a serious coin collector, I would certainly start a collection
of consular coins.

I second that idea - we should have coins honoring all of our consuls
from the beginning. We probably would not want to try to issue several
different coins in a short time span, but I think we should have a
long-term plan to produce coins covering the first three years' consuls.

Greetings and welcome to Nova Roma. We are indeed a successful micronation
and are well on our way to the full restoration of the Respublica of
Roma Mater and are glad to have you among us! There is a good deal to see

Nova Roma and many avenues for participation. Consul Germanice has put

Actually I haven't, as I don't have any kind of credit card and I
don't know anyone who has, the shopping in the net is quite of an
terra incognita for me. Yesterday I looked into amazon and noticed
that now one can pay also with money orders etc and this is a great
news for me, no longer I have to order books via bookstore where they
add their own bonus to the price. Must make adjustments to the budget
for nexr months. :-)

Is there a some kind of statistic sumary that contains brief list of

current number of citizens
number citizens in each provincia
in/out flow information
men/women information
number of members of each gens (but that is in album gentium)
patrician/plebeian information
number of ordo equester citizens

and some other informations

in Nova Roma page?

And if it is not I think, that it will be good to make it, and
publish for example three or four times a year. It will help to watch
demographic evolution of Nova Roma Population.

I guess that could be another censor's obligation, but maybe senate
or censor can establish a special office to manage it.

Check the Album Civium, in the bottom of that page it will have the
accurate number.

> number citizens in each provincia

Go to the Provincia page, click on which province you want...it will
list the names of individuals and at the bottom of each link it will
have the number of individuals in that province.

> in/out flow information

What do you mean here?

> men/women information

Nope no statistics on that.

That is correct it is available on the Album Gentium.

Once again, in the Album Gentium.

That is in the Album Civium...

Like what? Recently I published the national demographic of Nova Roma,
where it showed over 70-75% of Nova Romans are American, and I broke it
down by Country.

Uh it would be nice..but the Censors are overworked as it is....so, I
think it would be good maybe once a year...please keep in mind the
Censors are probably the busiest magistrates in Nova Roma and we have
alot of responsibilities that we MUST accomplish.

> I guess that could be another censor's obligation, but maybe senate
> or censor can establish a special office to manage it.

Well, in my honest opinion, I dont think so, the reason is much of the
information needed to prepare such statistics would require access to
confidential information. However, most of the information you
requested above is easily accessible via the NR website. All one needs
to do is to point, click and scroll and that information is accessible

Salve,

My name is Tiberius Apollonius Cicatrix (real name:
Dennis Temmerman) and I am now officially a proud
citizen of Nova Roma. I currently live in Belgium
(near the beautiful city of Ghent). I am a history
student at the university of Ghent and I am already a
few years 'addicted' to ancient Rome. My nickname in
my emailadress is currently not a symbol for any
ambitions, but maybe in the future I would like to
start a political career.

My main interests are Latin literature (in
translation, since I know not enough Latin to read and
comprehend those texts) and the Roman military.

The early republic of Rome is the time period I like
most, because of the pure virtus there was in that
period. I dislike the period of the emperors for their
total lack of virtue, and I am therefore happy to see
that Nova Roma is a republic and not an empire.

If anyone has more questions or would like to talk to
me about something, you can contact me privately at my
other emailadress: metalrules@--------
This is because I would like to use this emailadress
only for the emaillists of Nova Roma.

My sincere greetings to all citizens,
Tiberius Apollonius Cicatrix

Salvete,

I cannot sufficiently express my satisfaction with Nova Roma's growth over
the last three years. Our attempt to restore the ancient Roman republic has
been more successful than anyone could have imagined. Our on-line community
is thriving, our "real world" gatherings are becoming more and more numerous
every day, our land fund and endowment are being established, we are about
to make an impact in academia, and we seem poised for an explosion in size
and activity.

Thanks to everyone who has helped Nova Roma prosper. Next year in the Forum!

I agree - coins honoring our consuls would be very faithful to Roman
tradition and might very well interest serious coin collectors (thereby
enriching our coffers).

Salve Consul Vedi,

How about that proposal of mine to amend the Lex Iunia de M.A.? I believe
you still have it collecting dust in your mail archives somewhere ;-). If
you've lost it, I'd be happy to resend it.

Vale bene,
Draco

That really wouldn't be relevant to the Constitutional amendments I was
talking about. But please do re-send it to me off-list
(germanicus@--------). I'm sure I have it, but I've got literally 2,500
emails in my inbox (that's just from the last 30 days; my archives are about
10,000 emails and growing).

Salvete Consul Cassius et Populus Nova Roma:

This is truly exciting!! I love the coin.......love it!

My compliments to whomever designed it. You have done well!
Further, my gratitude to the Senate who voted to make this undertaking a go.

What more concrete way exists to promote ourselves as a bona fide nation in
our own right, than by our own coinage?

Ave Nova Roma!

Salvete NovaRomani!

The coins are a wonderful idea and truly beautiful! I am no coin collector myself but I look forward to displaying a NovaRoman coin next to my one and only RomaAntiqua coin (a silver Republican denarius featuring Concordia). I only hope they don't cost too much more to ship all the way to New Zealand!

As far as ideas go for future productions, I would suggest we keep in line with the Republic of old and depict only images of our gods and goddesses on them, there are certainly plenty to choose from. Perhaps Roma could be next? What do you all think?

Valete!

Salve

Vale,

L. Sergius Aust. Obst.

Salvete, Friends and Citizens;

Just a note to tell you that I have returned this P.M. from the subject
week. It was a most successful venture from several aspects, and my
enjoyment of the respite was unqualified.

I had some 80+ messages upon my return awaiting me, and the large
majority of those were digest messages which held in thier turn up to 25
messages, so I have been thrashing through a large volume of mail.

I will respond to individual personl messages as soon as I can get to
them, and to concerns of the micronations will of course will always
demand my first attention.

In the coming day or two, I will be making my After Action Reports of
the reenactment military surveys undertaken by the Engineers during the
Newport Event. Should anyone be interested contact me personnaly and I
will be pleased to add you to the message list.

I am also pleased to note that it was possible to have a face-to-face
meeting with two members of Nova Roma, which was most enjoyable and
rewarding. More about that meeting at a later time. I am pleased to be
back and my best wishes to you all.

Valete, Respectfully;
Marcus Audens

Salve, Gaius

Im interested in novaroman demographics too. Periodically, i copy the Album Civium and count all the citizens, to see how many citizens are in each province, with the current governor. My last count was of 18/mar, and the results are in:
http://www.angelfire.com/scifi/nrbras/nr4.htm
However, the results are unnofficial, since it isnt my duty to do this, it only result of my curiosity...
