Salve Gnae Sali,

Why thank you. However I don't think the comitee would be complete
without you. Pompeia Cornelia did mention "3-4 citizens" and I took
this to mean citizens who aren't Paters/Maters or who hold any of the
higher offices.

I agree most wholeheartedly with this suggestion and will reiterate my belief that we should have a committee like this that worked full time to offer suggestions as to how we can best re-create Roma. Whether a mixed group or a committee of Senators such a group is greatly needed to find the best ways to incorporate ancient practices into modern living. It's easy to dismiss anothers ideas as unhistorical, much more difficult to adapt the past to fit the present.

This does seem a rather good point. However, many citizens have
expressed in the past their opinion that too many elections for
magistratures produce a serious damage to our Res Publica, because new
citizens can not be accepted during votations, and because they
concentrate our time and effort in those votations.

Maybe we could have another thought about the possibility of having
suffecti magistrates. I would suggest that, if a magistrate leaves his
office before time, the candidate that had the next higher number of
votes in the election in which the resigning magistrate was nominated
should take the office. If no suitable candidate were to be found, then
a new election should take place. This is in accord with Roman
tradition, and could reduce the number of midterm elections somewhat.

Salve, L. Sicini Druse.

Thank you for your support. I really would like to see an advancement
on this subject. I don't really mind who forms this commitee, as long
as it reaches a reasonable solution in a medium period of time, and as
long as the historical vision of the subject that you so well represent
is taken into account.

Salvete Omnes

Just a word to say that I particularly like the idea of comittees, being a
good way for Senators and Magistrates to consult and being well adviced
about a large representation of what people think, and how ancient Roma can
be revived in every aspect in the best way possible and compatible with our
modern conceptions. Our Pater Conscripti's wisdom is not to be challenged
but I think a comittee could bring new ideas, such as Pompeia Cornelia's, as
well as opened and constructive debate.
