Wow, you did some excellent work for publicity! First TV and now a reporter?
I am impressed. Hope you slipped the provincia website in... *grins*

Seems like you did a fitting job in displaying the glory of Rome to all
those barbarians. *grins again*

Great report, next year I hope to be there in person and not just in spirit.
Definitely an event to look forward to and mark on the calender for next
year!

I would just like to express my admiration and thanks to our Censors for
completing a mid-year reallocation of the Centuries on such short notice.
It's not an easy task (nor one they were compelled to undertake), and they
are to be commended for their efforts.

Salvete Omnes,

I am pleased to welcome Prima Nocta Ritulia to our fine Province. There are many active cives in the Portland area. You can get in touch with them by getting in contact with Marcus Cornelius Felix holyconelia@-------- who is the Legate responsible for the Regio in which you reside. Please feel free to send any questions to him. Or to me! :)
I am also pleased, nay, tickled pink, to welcome back Oppius. Hopefully we in the macronational state of Washington will be able to organize a late summer picnic where we can see him once again. Who's interested? And who makes a good potato salad? Hey! What's the Roman equivalent of potato salad?

Thank you Consul for your kind words; however, I feel that I must give the
Lions share of the credit to Senator Marcus Octavius Germanicus.
Without his expertise I'm afraid that completing our job would be very
difficult, but with his efforts our work is manageable. Since Marcus
Octavius has become an active citizen he has provided invaluable service to
the nation. I have also found him to be a thoughtful, knowledgeable and
considerate man whom I will gladly support in any future office he wishes to
hold.

Salve Pompeia Antonia,

You may find these fallowing links interesting:

http://www.d230.org/stagg/Pages/departments/foreign/LatinWeb/18203/medic.htm
This link talks of the different remedies used in antiquity.

http://www.med.virginia.edu/hs-library/historical/antiqua/instru.html
This link discusses the instruments used by Roman doctors.

Hope you may find these sites interesting and useful. Roman Medical
practices is good topic rarely discussed. They also seem much more advanced
then I expected. Although some of there ideas are quite ridiculous like goat
poop and wine place on fractured ribs. I feel sorry for the poor person who
had to endure that experience...

Ave,

I'm sure that some of our procedures will seem just as
ridiculous 2,000 years from now. Thank you for the
information. I was also looking into hallucinogenic
drugs that were used as well. These could have served
multiple purposes: medicinal, religious, recreational,
etc..

Bene omnibus nobis

Salve Illustrus Senator et Censor Lucius Equitius Cincinnatus!

There are some things I don't understand. Is the Centuria numbers on the
main site correct? Are the century points the base for placement in the
centuries?

If so I have some questions about my placement in Centuria 130. I have more
then twice as much century points as nr. 2 in my centuria, which wouldn't
be a problem exept that there are many citizens who have less points then
me, but influence the outcome of their century's vote to a higher degree
than myself.

I have checked lower centuries, for example nr. 99. It has two members both
who have 25 century points, remember that I have 37 points. The two
citizens in Centuria 99 have 1/2 of a centuria vote, while I who have 7
citizens in my centuria have 1/7 of a centuria vote. That means that I who
have 37 points have 1/7 century vote and the citizens in centuria 99 who
each have 25 points have 1/2 centuria vote. Look also at century nr. 25
where one citizen with 36 centurty points (one less then me) controll the
whole century vote. His vote is worth 7 times mine.

How come? Have I misunderstood anything?

I am not trying to lessen others influence! Are there any other criteria
influencing the weight of my vote? And if so which are they?

Eventually, they will be. For this election, all we did was to place new
citizens in centuries; no one who was already in a century was moved. This
is because the data used to calculate century points is incomplete. A
complete reallocation of all centuries will be done before November.
