[novaroma] KDE translation to Latin |

Salve,
I just joined the i18n.kde team in order to organize a translation of
KDE to latin.
KDE is desktop for Linux and other Unices which behaves more or less
like M$Windows (well without the bugs/crashes)
You can take a look at http://www.kde.org/screenshots/index.html in
order to see what it looks like.
We are talking here of translating some 80,000 lines to latin (from any
of over 40 different languages: http://i18n.kde.org/teams/index.php )
Clearly this is not a one-man team project and I will need a lot of help
from anybody who is interrested in this task.
Think about the result: an all latin desktop distributed freely
worldwide, don't you think it is worse an effort?
Vale,

Salve,
I happen to think this is a good idea. One should take this not from the
morbid stand point and think about the accomplishments of a person who has
passed. I know it's often not easy, and sometimes downright impossible to
look at a loss that way, but over time it gets easier for most. (I know, it
took me almost 2 years to be able to talk about my mother and not burst into
tears)

Salvete,
I was wondering if it might be appropriate to have a web page to
the memory of Nova Romans who have died as citizens. Perhaps such a
memorial area could be called Catacombs. If this is too morbid,
disregard the idea. But I do think some kind of NR memorial paghe
would be fitting.

Honored Consul Sulla;
I wish to thank you for the mention of the website "WarScholar." I was
very much impressed with the story regarding Commadore Schley. He has
been a man whom I have admired for many years. I knew something of the
controversey surrounding both he and Admiral Sampson, but the detailed
explanation of the situation and the resulting Court Of Inquiry was
extremely interesting to me. The References provided will, of course,
be added to my books to get for my Naval Library.
Thank you for the sharing of this information. My Naval organization

All--If you are interested in medical history, there
is mention of a site discussing the Edwin Smith
Papyrus in the Sodalitas Medicum list.
Sodalitas Medicum is an unofficial gathering of people
interested in medical history from around the Roman
period. This particular papyrus predates the Roman
Republic, but it is possible that Romans from that
period might have been familiar with the medical
techniques d3escribed in the papyrus.
I hope you'll enjoy it1 :)

I put through a message of this nature yesterday morning, but, I see
it is not yet here, and likely will not be, so I am risking repeating
myself.
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of the father of

approximately 5 am.
As many Novae Romani offered prayers and words of encouragement for
Cato, his father, and his family, I thought it prudent to make this

Avete Omnes et Tribune Claudius Salix,
I saw this same post on the Senate list and refrained from posting there. However, you have reposted this post on the Nova Roma main list. Because of this I feel it necessary to respond to the People of Nova Roma.
I am glad that Praetor Pompeia Cornelia is temporary moderator of the ML. She has always enjoyed my complete confidence. However, there will need to be an election for a new list moderator, this will most likely take place in April.
As per the main list guidelines, let us not forget that the Citizens of Nova Roma have voted and confirmed the Lex Cornelia de Linguis Publicus. This law re-affirms the Senatus Consultum that was passed during the Consulship of Flavius Vedius et Marcus Cassius. And the Lex Cornelia expands its scope to include translators to translate the Nova Roma website.
Why not be proactive, Tribune Claudius Salix, and apply to be a translator? And thus you can be apart of the solution!
Respectfully,
Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix
Consul
