congratulations to the victor!! A well deserved
victory. Next time, I will hire Panoramix, the druid.
He will cook a magical brew that will give Asterix an
unmatchable strength...

Subject: [novaroma] live meetings

Salvete omnes et amici,

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend a Nova Britannia provincial
meeting for the first time. It was held in the Massachusetts Regio
and hosted by Gaius Minucius Hadrianus, Legatus of Massachusetts
Regio. What a wonderful idea to meet and talk with face-to-face some
of our fellow cives! We had a most illuminating discussion on Roman
religio, politics, literature, the military, etc. It was very
refreshing to get instant feedback about various ideas and projects
in progress. I heartily recommend all cives, no matter what province
you reside in, to try to get together and discuss what interests you
most. After the meeting was over, I felt much more like a
participant rather than just an observer. I felt like I really
belonged to a thriving micro-nation, and that I was helping to make
it just a little bit better. I hope all cives can have the chance to
experience a live meeting. Ask your local legatus to arrange for
one. You will be glad you did!

Valete,

Gaius Lanius Falco
Scriba Propraetoris Nova Britannia
Paterfamilias Gens Lania

Salvete, omnes -

I've just picked up a copy of Major-General J.F.C. Fuller's "Julius Caesar:
Man, Soldier, and Tyrant" at the local used book store. Does anyone have an
opinion on the accuracy of this book? The author's credentials look fairly
solid, but I'm just a tyro at history, so advice would be welcome.

Ave,

I have that book. I enjoyed reading it. As for historical accuracy....unfortunately I am not a scholar either.
