To see the movie you must to have the Macromedia Flash Player . The
download is free at
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?
P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
If the movie is too heavy on-line, you can download the zip file and
see it off-line.

Of course, you'll can see the movie since 2003 at minimum (during the

Subject: [novaroma] FLOREALES LUDI CIRCENSES - Quarters
From: "Franciscus Apulus Caesar" <sacro_barese_impero@libero.it>
Date: Thu, 2 May 2002 14:49:33 +0200
Franciscus Apulus Caesar Omnibus S.P.D.

Wonderful!!! The first races are accomplished, the Quarters are finished.
At the Start Lines the Russata have an enormous army: 11 chariots to win the
Floreales Ludi Circenses.
The favorite for the final victory is Flavia Ferrata by Caius Flavius
Diocletianus but chariots like Inexpugnabilis, Aquilifer, Proeliator could
try to take the crown.
But in the Circum everything can happen ... So, only five Reds go in
Semifinals and the winner still are the Greens. Wonderful Albata: for this
first time two chariots win the races, congratulations! The fans of the
Blues are very disappointed, they want the head of the charioteers! Only
Pollus goes in Semifinal drawed by lot.

I'm proud to announce the second tour of the Ludi Circenses, the Semifinals
start!!!

Look the results at
http://italia.novaroma.org/cohorsaedilis/ludi/floreales/quarters.htm
The new Start Line of the Semifinal is at
http://italia.novaroma.org/cohorsaedilis/ludi/floreales/tour.htm

RESULTS
-------------------------------------
GROUP A

Flavia Ferrata
driver: Spurius Diocles
by C. Flavius Diocletianus
Race tactic: (1)

Aquilifer
driver: Noefequix
by M. Minicius Rufus
Race tactic: (1)
Fastbeep
driver: Ayrtonnus Senna
by Servius Adrianus Barcinonensis
Race tactic: (1)

Invicta
driver: Gaius Philippus
by Marcus Apulus Caesar
Race tactic: (2)

1st - Flavia Ferrata
2nd - Aquilifer
3th - Invicta
4th - Fastbeep

Go in Semifinal: Flavia Ferrata and Aquilifer
Invicta is drawed by lot.

The champion chariot Flavia Ferrata offered another lesson of conduction and
great skill. He is again a clear favorite for the final victory. The white
chariot of the honorable Apulus Caesar disappointed the spectators, but not
so much as the blue Fastbeep, which had a shameful performance. A
discouraging beginning for the Factio Veneta. Many blue fans asked for the
head of the charioteer. His master, the citizen Adrianus Barcinonensis,
maybe a bit passionate man, has promised to give it to them in a tray. The
red Aquilifer was very effective, as ever. He was a finalist in the Ludi
Megalenses and he wants to be again in the final of these Ludi. It is the
best chariot of its factio right now.

----------------------------------------
GROUP B

Delecta Mea
driver: Scorpianus
by Jullila Sempronia Magna
Race tactic: (5)

Squalidus
driver: Animus Magnificus
by Ianus Minicius Sparsus
Race tactic: (1)

Veritas
driver: Maximus Vincentius
by Gaius Lanius Falco
Race tactic: (2)

Segestae Furiae
driver: Iulius Quirinus
by Secundus Quirinus Vitus
Race tactic: (6)

1st - Delecta Mea
2nd - Squallidus
3rd - Accidents!
4th - Veritas

Go in Semifinal: Delecta Mea and Squallidus

A green winner and a red second again. I suspect that this ludi seems to
have only two colors. The albata continues with its show of misfortunes. Now
the white Segestae Furiae was pushed to the wall by the wicked and winning
Scorpianus of the Delecta Mea. The shock was brutal and the white driver
Iulius Quirinus will have to eat mash and to use crutchs some months. The
blue Veritas ... ehem, it was as fast as an elderly and nice grandmother
gathering flowers on a spring field.

---------------------------------------
GROUP C

Basilea
driver: Septimius Raurax
by Tiberius Annaeus Otho
Race tactic: (3)

Ius Sanguinis
driver: Hermanus Martianus
by Marcus Arminius Maior
Race tactic: (4)

Pollux
driver: Andromeda
by Lucia Ambrosia Valeria
Race tactic: (5)

Impactus Infrenatus
driver: Malleus Nolens
by Gnaeus Octavius Noricus
Race tactic: (6)

1st - Impactus Infrenatus
2nd - Basilea
3th - Pollux
4th - Ius Sanguinis

Go in Semifinal: Impactus and Basilea
Pollux is drawed by lot.

It is incredible! A miracle! A white has win a race! Trumpets sound on the
air and the public rubs the eyes. The white fans give thanks to the gods and
praise Malleus Nolens, driver of Impactus Infrenatus. Finally they have a
hero. The second chariot is not a surprise, other green. The blue Pollux
could not push any rival to the wall and the red Ius sanguinis only could
lash to the statues of the spina.

---------------------------------------
GROUP D

Inexpugnabilis
driver: Ignis
by Caius Curius Saturninus
Race tactic: (1)

Massilia
driver: Petrus Scorpio
by Sextus Apollonius Scipio
Race tactic: (3)

Metella Maxima
driver: Aegeus
by Lucius Arminius Metellus
Race tactic: (6)

Gladius Albus
driver: Damnator
by Marcus Octavius Solaris
Race tactic: (4)

1st - Gladius Albus
2nd - Inexpugnabilis
3th - Massilia
4th - Accidents!

Go in Semifinal: Gladius Albus and Inexpugnabilis

Two red against a green and a white. But none of the two obtains the
classification. The red driver Aegeus de Metella Maxima is thrown of the
chariot by the lashes of the evil white Damnator (very appropriate name) of
Gladius Albus, who too win the race. Two victories for the Albata! The
second lucky was a green again, like always today. It is said that the
Praesina has bought all the statues of the goddess Fortuna for mysterious
rituals. On the red chariot Massilia ... well, the greeks say that "the
important idea is to take part, so you do not get depressed for being so
USELESS".

-------------------------------------
GROUP E

Essedum
driver: Italus
by Manius Constantinus Serapio
Race tactic: (3)

Attia Clusia
driver: Clodius Rufus
by Appius Arminius Claudianus
Race tactic: (1)

Proeliator
driver: Gustavus Barbarus
by Caeso Fabius Quintilianus
Race tactic: (6)

The Wolf
driver: Darkensol
by Marcus Scribonius Curio Britannicus
Race tactic: (1)

1st - Accidents!
2nd - Essedum
3th - Attia Clusia
4th - Proeliator

Go in Semifinal: Essedum and Attia Clusia

It is verified. The greens have an alliance with the gods. Other green in
the semi-finals! Essedum has demonstrated that coolly also it is possible to
win, whereas the horses of the blue Wolf "ate" the spina in the first
curve. Badly day for the blues. They will be bewitched? In the duel for the
second post between reds win Attia Clusia. Proeliator lost time greeting the
ballerinas of the curve of the spina.

-------------------------------
GROUP F

Fulmen Viridis
driver: Nemo Ulysses
by Manius Villius Limitanus
Race tactic: (2)

Sanguinarius
driver: Emilia Curia Furia
by Emilia Curia Finnica
Race tactic: (6)

Velox
driver: Lepidus
by Titus Arminius Volusius
Race tactic: (4)

Rosa Aestįs
driver: Via Ira
by Marcus Apulus Caesar
Race tactic: (1)

1st - Accident!
2nd - Fulmen Viridis
3th - Accident!
4th - Rosa Aestas

Go in Semifinal: Fulmen Viridis and Rosa Aestąs

The most rough race. The red Velox must have grave myopia or a very grave
color blindness. he lashed his colleague Sanguinarius and provoked his
terrible accident. Then he got entangled in his whip and overturned in the
last curve. Bad luck, baby. The green Fulmen Viridis (yes, that damn color
again) and the white Rosa Aestas enjoyed a very comfortable race.

------------------------------
GROUP G

Leo
driver: Titus Lupercia Silo
by N. Cassius Niger
Race tactic: (1)

Apollo Victor
driver: Afer Magnus
by Tiberius Apollonius Cicatrix
Race tactic: (4)

Italica
driver: Equus Erectus
by Franciscus Apulus Caesar
Race tactic: (6)

Phaeton
driver: Flavius Iaculator
by Gaius Cornelius Ahenobarbus
Race tactic: (1)

1st - Accident!
2nd - Accident!
3th - Italica
4th - Apollo Victor

Go in Semifinal: Italica and Apollo Victor
