Betreff: Tribal names
Salutem plurimam, censores. Si tu vales, ego valeo.
I'm doing some research on Roman tribes, but I'm having some trouble working
out a few details - wondered if you could help?
I know that of the thrty-five tribes four were Urban and thirty-one rural,
and I know the complete list of said tribes. What I'm having trouble finding
a source for is a list of the locations which governed assignment to a
tribe. Would it be possible for you to give me a rough idea of the locations
that each tribal name covered? I'm assuming you have a list as it says on
the Nova Roma site that you deal with assignig members to tribes... I hope I
haven't got the wrong end of the stick, because I can't find another
resource anywhere!
Here's the list of tribes as I have it, I compared mine and the one on your
site and I believe they match.
Aemilia
Aniensis
Arniensis
Camilia
Claudia
Clustumina
Collina
Cornelia
Esquilina
Fabia
Falerna
Galeria
Horatia
Lemonia
Maecia
Oufentina
Palatina
Papiria
Poblilia
Pollia
Pomptina
Quirina
Romilia
Sabatia
Scaptia
Sergia
Stellatina
Suburana/Succusana
Teretina
Tromentina
Velina
Voltinia
Voturia
Any help would be much appreciated; if a complete list would eat up too much
of your time, the information I most require is anything regarding tribes
associated with Caesaria and the province of Judaea - that information alone
would be wonderful. Many thanks in advance!
Di vos incolumes custodiant!

Salvete,
I was curious if anyone could tell me if the following works survived
and are available in an English translation:
Divine and Human Antiquities by Marcus Terentius Varro
On The Gods by Nigidius Figulus
On Forms of Address by Granius Flaccus
Thanks!

[novaroma] Question on Plutarch???????? |

Salvete omnes,
In the course of my studies, I have to hold a speech about the "Roman Questions"
of Plutarch. The main point should be to show how Plutarch as a Greek thinks
about Rome and the Romans.
Unfortunately, until now I could not find much material about this. Could
anyone who is in posession of such material please write back as soon as
possible?
