But won't you miss the iguanas sunning themselves on the rocks by the
bowling alley, the land crabs invading the baseball fields, and the
wonderful smell of the nightly mosquito fumigations? I know those
were some of my favorite attractions when we pulled into Gitmo.

I am cross posting this as to inform the largest number of Cives.

Primus: I would like one and all to welcome my newest Gens member, Tiberius Ullerius Faber.

Tiberius is a good friend from the Germanic Heathen community.

He is a smith and historical re-enactor by interest and an electrician by trade. He has a lovely
wife and children, all of whom I'm looking forward to seeing in July at the Asatru Alliance Althing.

I don't know if he's on the main list yet, but please, do welcome him. Obviously, I like him quite
well and think he shall like many of the folks he meets here.

Secondus: My wife Annia Ulleria and I shall be traveling to New England for our annual visit to
family. I shall be without computer until my return late on the 3rd or early on the 4th.
(Hopefully in time to vote!)

Be well all, and I should like to say that the level of conversation here in the Forum Nova Romanum
has risen nicely the past few weeks.

Citizens,

last week I published a request to all Patres Familiae to check their
profile pages for pending gens members. I would like to thank all
Patres who followed my request. A number of new citizens could be
approved.

Now we have, unfortunately, a number of Patres who failed to check
their gens, and, as announced, I now intend to act alongside the
regulations set in the Edictum about Patres Familiae
(http://www.novaroma.org/tabularium/edicts/20010302lec.htm), inside
the boundaries set by law.

I set a 45-day-period backwards from May 22nd (yesterday), and
reviewed the Album Civium about prospective citizens who applied
before April 8th and wanted to join an existing gens. I further
compiled the list below about gentes and their patres, who failed to
approve that applicants, despite my public requests.

These gentes will be set closed to future recruitment, that means,
that no applicant can join this gens. Existing applicants will be
rejected for gens membership by the Censors, they will be mailed and
informed about the possibility to join another existing open gens.

The Patres Familiae about the closed gentes can mail the Censors
(censors@novaroma.org) anytime and ask them to re-open their gens.

This actions are not intended to offend anyone, they are intended to
reduce the application jam which developed because of missing Pater
responses.

The respective gentes will be set closed during the Comitia votes
next week, when citizenship approvals cannot take place. Until then,
I ask the Praetores and the Tribuni Plebis to check my intended
actions for any possible mistakes.

The most likely reason that I have not been accepting members is because I
haven't been getting notification of them. Some time ago, I was required to
change my e-mail address. I sent two messages to the censores at that time
and one message to whoever it was that was maintaining the NovaRoma page.
Neither answered back nor did they change my e-mail address.

I did not see your message because I haven't been reading the NovaRome list
lately. I apologize for not contacting you earlier.

You say you sent a message to me (the list moderator) 'sometime
ago'. I can safely say that I received nothing from you since Feb.
this year. The former list moderator, P. Vedia Serena, generally
crossposted her correspondence with me, as I was her scriba.
