Salvete!

I've just set my YahooGroups account to start sending me Nova Roma mail
again, I've had it off since my 8 day trip to Italy starting on Easter
Weekend back in April. Sorry I've had it off so long, now I'm feeling out of
the loop. Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still alive! I'm trying to
get my pictures from Italy put up at but I'm having a bit of trouble with it,
I'll email you the address once I get the pictures uploaded. On another
note, I just won this on Ebay. <A HREF="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2105930074&r=0&t=0&showTutorial=0&ed=1022353212&indexURL=0&rd=1">http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&
item=2105930074&r=0&t=0&showTutorial=0&ed=1022353212&indexURL=0&rd=1</A> I
strongly doubt the accuracy of the 2 gladius, but the pugio seems to be
"fairly" consistant with those offered by more professional dealers, plus the
price was terrific. And I like the way they look (insert goofy smile here).
Well the list seems to be pretty quiet since I've gotten back. If anyone is
planning on going to Italy over this summer, be sure to have fun! I did!

Valete,

Iulius Titinius Antonius

Salvete,
I went to the eBay page and looked at what you got. I think I am
going to get the Pugio and
maybe get the others later.

Just wanted to say that the Pugio that i saw in that page can be bought here in Argentina in a LOT of places (for the Argentinian citizens, around Lavalle Street) for almost 5 dollars (and itīs exactly the same pugio). I was almost tempted to buy it, but i had a real blacksmith to make me a gladius. It was a lot more expensive ($ 60!) but itīs real steel and it feels better too ;-). If you want to check out some of his works, try http://ar.photos.yahoo.com/bc/ccpalas2000/lst?&.dir=/Mis+fotos&.src=ph&.view=t&.last=1 or http://www.geocities.com/side1999ar/pr.htm

Tiberius Apollonius Cicatrix omnibus S.P.D.

I would like to volunteer for the position of Dominus
Factionis - Russata.

I have raced for this team in the two previous races:
Quarter Finals in the Ludi Megalesia; Semi Finals in
the Ludi Florales.

Since no one else seems likely to take up this
position, I decided to go for it. I will certainly do
the best I can in this postion, to serve the Reds.

VICTORIA RUSSATA!

Salvete,

I m curious if the fuller ( "blood groove" ) is accurate, I thought it
was a ridge from what I was reading.

I am making my own so I need to know the accuracy or if someone has a
picture of three sides of a Pugio that way I can see the front back and
the side of it. If you have any info that I need, please send offlist.

Also, looking to either join or form a Legio in the Phoenix Metro area.
I have expierence in blacksmithing and armoring as the wife does in
reenactment costume. I have an extensive military background and love
reenactment.

Salve, Caeso Fabi Quintiliane.

Well, since you asked so politely...;) I'll volunteer as a candidate
for team leader for the white circus party, though I urge you not to
forget our first candidate, Marcus Octavius Solaris.

I welcome other candidates to stand beside me and Solaris while Juppiter
Optimus Maximus and Fortuna decide our fates.

Vale, Titus Octavius Pius.
