Ironically I too was involved in that dig, however it was in the finishing
stages while the Proconsul was involved in the more important initial stage
thus we never met. I took part in the excavation of the original walls of
the Presido (fort) on top of hill over looking said Pueblo San Diego.
I also spent three months working on the mission itself on the banks of the
San Diego River.
(What San Diego River? The one that always appeared in the winter.) I have
very fond memories of my time spent in San Diego. It was a paradise.

I think "Julia" is the answer.

My question is:

Name the seven hills of Rome....

Subject: [Nova-Roma] Apologies

Salvete,

To all those who have contacted me without reply in
the last two weeks, please accept my apologies.
Unfortunately I have been rather unwell but thankfully
I am now recuperating. I will be working through my
posts in due course and will reply to all messages
shortly.

Valete,

Decimus Iunius Silanus.

Date: Wed, 12 Jun 2002 19:33:13 -0000
Salvete omnes,

It appears there was a bit of confusion over this question, so I have
decided to re-word it, for clarification. Although two people
understood it and answered correctly, neither submitted a question to
be asked, so I have decided to let a modified version of this stand
for another day.

What method would be used to choose the name of a female child in
Rome?

If you think you know the answer, please e-mail me at
marcusscribonius@hotmail.com with the answer, your Roman name, and
the question you would like to ask.

Bene valete,
Marcus Scribonius Curio Britannicus.

Subject: [Nova-Roma] Biographical Dictionary - Clarification
From: "curiobritannicus" <Marcusaemiliusscaurus@hotmail.com>

Salvete omnes,

There has been a great response so far, with several people e-mailing
me promising biographies. However, some have said that they come
from other web sites or books. Unfortunately, due to copyright laws,
we cannot reproduce these on the Nova Roma website, which is where
the encyclopaedia will end up.

Instead, I ask that you all write a few paragraphs yourself about
your favourite Roman! Your work will be displayed on the main web
page, and and you will be credited with its writing. And ultimately,
this encyclopaedia will be a valuable research tool, if we can build
it up now.

Bene valete,
Marcus Scribonius Curio Britannicus.
