Apollonius of Tyana was a miracle worker and healer, who &amp;quot;raised the dead,&amp;quot; although, unlike the claims made of Jesus, Apollonius never claimed a divine power, but instead always attributed his miracles to knowledge gained through a life of study. He was a Neopythagorean philosopher, and a traveller through Persia to distant India, as well as over the Empire. His biography by Philostratus is fascinating:&lt;br /&gt;
