		+	II. In honour of his extended efforts in maintaining order and safety of Nova Roma, we are pleased to announce that C. Albius Agrippa, Vigil Forensis, Tesserarius, is recognized for the "Award for a Nova Roman achievement".

		+	III. C. Albius has earned this award for "exemplary service as vigil". He was appointed to head a special security detachment of vigils in the Cohors Vigilum Officialium Variorum. He has impressed command with, not only his leadership, but his level of activity and attentiveness. He embodies the Romanitas in his role and he should be commended for his contributions to Nova Roma over the past year. With this edict, citizens in the “Curiae” forum (Discord server) are reminded, as per pontifical decree, that although social, fraternal, informal, and private natured discussions and topics are not restricted there, posts must not descend into obscenity, vulgarity, curse words, insults, ad hominem attacks, hurtful tone or hateful debates. Topics that divide and turn the members against each other must be tempered, will be moderated, and if needed, will result in expulsion and ban of citizens from the forum (server). Severe infractions will result in citizens facing trial proceedings in Nova Roma. If those citizens hold curiate officers, this may impact your ongoing eligibility for those roles.

		+	II. With this edict, the praetores hereby direct the Praefectus Vigilum to assemble a cohort of vigils and assign them to duties in Nova Roma’s Curiae Discord server. Vigils will police the forum as per the regulation of the Decretum pontificum de curiis.

Under the discretion of the Praefectus Vigilum, vigils are to be stationed in the Curiae server until such time the Curiae can demonstrate sufficient moderation practices to the satisfaction of the praetores. 		+	I. One of the best ways to benefit from the education and living-history of Nova Roman society is to actively participate in appointed and elected roles. What better way is there to experience the Romanitas then actively contributing your time to the Res Publica. With over 40 elected positions available annually, there is also nearly double that amount of volunteer and appointed positions in the civil service and other offices in our global-spanning Republic.

		+	II. Nova Roma gets many new enthusiastic citizens each year. A large portion of these citizens wish to contribute to Nova Roma or participate in roles where they can learn about the various facets of Roman society. Unfortunately, it has been difficult for citizens to see what volunteering positions and opportunities exist. Even more long-term citizens with a willingness to contribute are often forced to just advertise their availability in the Forum Romanum or other public fora in the hope a magistrate or other senior official may see their post. Until such time as we can update our online supporting infrastructure, we need intermediary provisions to connect our potential workforce to the vacant opportunities.

		+	III. With this edict, I am initiating a new office responsible for the collation and advertising of available roles in Nova Roma, as well as reviving an old Nova Roma webpage to house all this information. I hereby establish the Officium Implicationis et Opportunitatis (Office of Employment and Opportunities). This office will be subservient to the existing Officium Operum Publicorum and placed under the provision and oversight of both the censors and the aediles, as originally created under Edictum censorium de Officio Censorio. Upon the declaration of this edict, the censors and aediles have full authority to manage this office and ensure its efficient operations.

		+	IV. To initially head this new department, I hereby appoint A. Iulius Paterculus, as Scriba Principalis Negotiorum, Rank III official, in the Decuria Scribarum Aediliciorum. He will be released from his current aedile role of Scriba Aedilis Curulis M. Aurelii, with a review of SATISFACTORY. These details are to be amended to the Album Decuriarum Apparitoriarum and Album Civium as normal. The role of the Scriba Principalis Negotiorum is to regularly advertise available roles across Nova Roma’ fora, as well as aiding magistrates and officials in updating the employment and opportunities portal. The scriba may provide advice to the citizenry on the finer details for the roles and opportunities on offer.

		+	VIII. All citizens applying for available roles are still requested to exercise patience after submitting an inquiry to a job point-of-contact. Many of the officials advertising roles receive a significant influx of inquiries on matters of Nova Roman business and may not be able to answer you straight away.

		+	I. The civil service is an important aspect of Nova Roman society. The apparitores that serve the magistrates of the central Nova Roma state provide the continuity of corporate knowledge each year as new magistrates are elected.

		+	II. Therefore, it is the will of the praetores to elevate the Officium Praetorium up to full strength. Supplementing the scribe and accensus already working in the office, we are appointing to new citizens to provide services on behalf of the praetores.

		+	III. The praetores hereby appoint:

		+	:B. Sextus Domitius Symmachus, as Scriba praetoris, Rank IV official

		+	IV. There roles will include research focused on the upkeep of the Nova Roma tabularium and legal matters that affect Nova Roma. It is our intent, as praetores, to provide training and mentorship to these new appointees, so that future magistrates, and the citizens themselves, benefit. We encourage all magistrates to appoint willing staff and share their experience and guidance across our community.
