SENATOR'S COMMENTS:

Appius Tullius Marcellus Cato: I will go along on this one, but I believe
that we should have a discussion about the frequency of exemptions,
and take a hard look at the necessity of each case.

Decimus Iunius Silanus: I am uncomfortable granting exemptions of
this kind based on 'who' someone knows. Certain conditions would
certainly warrant an exemption, this is not one of them.

Franciscus Apulus Caesar: I give my approvation because the name of
Pontifex Gaius Modius Athanasius is an assurance for me. But I hope these
exemptions wouldn't be considered in the future.

Gnaeus Equitius Marinus: Uti Rogas with the understanding that this is an
exceptional and rare circumstance.

Gnaeus Salvius Astur: Since I believe that this procedure is not necessary,
I do not see any reason to deny an exemption from it.

Lucius Equitius Cincinnatus Augur: I agree with others who have said it's an
unnecessary requirement in any case.

ITEM 4: International Literary Contest (requires a vote of the Senate)

The Senate hereby resolves and gives permission to Plebian Aedile Manius Constantinus Serapio
SENATOR'S COMMENTS:

Alexander Iulius Caesar Probus Macedonicus: Very good project
Appius Tullius Marcellus Cato: I wish this great success

Caeso Fabius Quintilianus: It will be very interesting indeed to see
the development of this contest

Decius Iunius Palladius Invictus: A worthy effort.

Decimus Iunius Silanus: Sounds like a great project that will raise
Nova Roma's profile.

Emilia Curia Finnica: As a plebeian senator I'm very happy to
see a capable and active Aedilis Plebis. This contest is a small but
important step towards a wider recognition of Nova Roma.
Franciscus Apulus Caesar I strongly support this item, the project by
Aedile Constantinus Serapio could give credits and promotion to NR
outside improving the number of active citizens.

Gnaeus Equitius Marinus: With thanks to Aedile Serapio for his initiative

Gnaeus Salvius Astur: With my best wishes for its success.

Julilla Sempronia Magna: It's hard to imagine a better activity to promote
Roman culture, and I commend Manius Constantinus Serapio for taking
the initiative
Patricia Cassia: Manius Constantius has been a consistent and
dedicated Citizen and I look forward to reading the results of this event!

ITEM 5: Recognition of Marco Horatio Piscino

The Senate hereby resolves and recognizes the great contributions of
Religio Romana, via the course he has designed and presented through
SENATOR'S COMMENTS:

Appius Tullius Marcellus Cato: I sincerely thank my Senate collegues for
their support of this item.
Caeso Fabius Quintilianus: I am very happy to see that the Academia
Thules have been able to engage this truly dedicated individual and that the
course has been met with such interest and satisfaction.

Decius Iunius Palladius Invictus: I was going to approve this, but in light
of recent information that this person may have resigned his citizenship, I will
abstain.

Emilia Curia Finnica: It's great to see the work of Academia Thules being
noticed in Nova Roma.
Franciscus Apulus Caesar: Congratulations to Illustrus Piscinus and to the
Academia Thule

Gnaeus Equitius Marinus: With most sincere thanks for the great gift provided

Gnaeus Salvius Astur: I hope that this will be only the first of many fruitful courses.

Julilla Sempronia Magna: The citizenship status of Marcus Horatius Piscinus is
immaterial to me. This was an excellent course -- a well-balanced mix of lecture,
reading and exercises. I believe that this course, if repeated, will go far to further
understanding and practice of the Religio Romana. Offering appreciation for out-
standing effort of any kind, from anyone, should be the rule -- not the exception.
Lucius Equitius Cincinnatus Augur: Antiquo on account of this being someone
who has resigned his citizenship.

I am EXTREMELY tired of the ongoing debate concerning 'resignations'. This has
been a totally absurd waste of time and effort. I guess some people just don't take it
seriously,... therefore they ought not be entrusted with positions of authority, and certainly
not given a reward of any note.
Additionally, the revolving door policy detracts from our Dignitas, Gravitas, Honestas,
Pietas, Nobilitas, Patientia et Virtus.

Quintus Fabius Maximus: This person left Nova Roma. why should we reward that?
