The Academia Thules ad Studia Romana Antiqua et Nova was a successful experiment in online education of Romanitas. The academy featured several courses centered on ancient Roman culture, history, religion, Latin language and also on the modern organization of Nova Roma. The courses were taught by highly qualified instructors but the school had no formal accreditation.

Although it was established by instructors who were members of Nova Roma, Academia Thules had no formal connection with Nova Roma. It operated independently, but it was run by Nova Roman citizens. The Academia Thules formally closed its doors on 1st May, 2012. The owners of the school are no longer associated with Nova Roma, but there are discussions among Nova Roman citizens to start a new educational project based on our past successful experience learned and gained from our first experiment.
