SESSION RESULTS

xx member has given a proxy to another senator

Item nb. Item title Mand. SC Appr. of a pres. mag. prop. Nb of sen. Voters Non voters Quorum obt. 2/3 qual. maj. UR ABS ANT APPR
I Lex Fabia de magistratibus ordinariis ineundis - previous approval no yes 30 20 10 yes no 17 0 3 YES but the call of the session has been previously VETOED by cos. PMA (2)
II The IT-project no yes 30 20 10 yes no 16 0 4 YES but the call of the session has been previously VETOED by cos. PMA (2)
III Dictatorship - Appointment of Gn. Equitius Marinus no yes 30 20 10 yes no 16 1 3 YES but the 'call of the session has been previously VETOED by cos. PMA (2)

Note :

  • (1) xxx senators on xxx did not vote : xx, xx, xx, xx, xx.
  • (2) As every veto, Cos. Fabius Buteo's one does not delete the vetoed act (here the call to order of the Senate, not the proposals presented after the veto), but just deprives it of its applicability, and, therefore, or any legal force. Constitutionally, Consul Fabius Buteo was not allowed to open the Senate session from the moment his colleague has vetoed his call. The fact, claimed by Cos. Fabius Buteo, that his convocation of the Senate has been made with the Tribunes of the Plebs (except one, G. Petronius Dexter), may not be seen as an legal excuse but as an aggravating circumstances, Roman and Novaroman laws forbidding a consul to convene the Senate with a Tribune, for it deprives then the second concerned consul - for a consul cannot veto a tribune - of her/his constitutional rights to veto her/his colleague.

Here a major point of Roman Constitutional Law was at stake.

DETAIL of the VOTE per SENATOR and ITEM

File:Vote July 2763 per sen.jpg

Note :
1. The first column refers to the order of seniority of the senators ;
2. This table contains only the abbreviated names of the senators who were allowed to vote (xx senators on July 26 minus xx resignations (xx and xx) : thus xx senators);
3. In blue, the last confirmations of vote, during the tally. In red, the vote "against". If a cell contains two mentions, it means that a director has changed his/her vote ;
4. The number of each item (see in the head of the columns) refers to the order of the presentation during the session. The missing numbers had been given to items which were not provided for the vote (information...). These numbers have been re-numbered in I, II... to VII (see above).
