Issue numbering

The last regularly-dated issue of The Eagle was that of March (vol. II) 2000. In issue III, 2000, editor D Iunius Palladius explained the irregularity in numbering that began with that issue:

"Salvete readers. No doubt you have noticed the lack of a month on this issue but merely an issue number. Until I catch up to a monthly publishing schedule these issues will be coming closer together. That is of little concern, however. There is plenty of good material to fill up these issues and keep you interested in reading.

"ROMA RESURGENS

"Decius Iunius Palladius Invictus, Curator Differum (editor)"

Issue III, 2000, makes reference to events that tool place in March of that year, including the resignation of Fl Vedius Germanicus as censor; the special election held to fill his seat, which went to senator G Marius Merullus; and the early stages of L Marius Fimbria's name-change petition.

Issue IV, 2000 takes that narrative through the publication and revision of L Cornelius Sulla's "gender edict", and the eventual conception of the Edictum de mutandis nominibus by himself and his new colleague. -- Marius Peregrinus 22:06, 27 August 2007 (CEST)
