The Nones of Qunctilius are called Caprotinae because on this day women offer sacrifice to Ivno Caprotina (fertile Juno) under wild fig-trees. The milky juice of the fig-tree is offered to the Goddess in place of the customary milk, and branches are cut from the trees, used in the celebration of the Ancillarvm Feriae.
