The following senators did not vote:
"UTI ROGAS" indicates a vote in favor of an item,
"ANTIQUO" or "NEGAT" is a vote against, and "ABSTINEO" is an
abstention.
The items for consideration are as
follows:
-
Proposed Governor:
-
Marcus Bianchius
Antonius - Lacus Magni Passed:
unanimously. 15 UTI ROGAS
MMA: UTI ROGAS: He was
recommended by his former Propraetor, and that together with his
experience as a Legate, bodes well for the province and for Nova
Roma. MOG: UTI ROGAS - he was recommended by the
previous propraetor, and has had the experience as a legate and
co-organizer of our last provincial gathering. -
Lucia Ambrosia
Valeria - Mediatlantica Passed:
unanimously. 15 UTI ROGAS
MOG: UTI ROGAS - although a relatively new
citizen, she has already demonstrated committment by serving as
Sacerdos. -
Sextus Apollonius
Scipio - Gallia Passed: 13 UTI ROGAS vs 1
NEGAT & 1 ABSTINEO
PCS: UTI ROGAS If there
was another candidate interested/qualified I would be forced to vote no,
in keeping with the current Senatus Consultum on this matter. However,
in the past Propraetors have been appointed, who do not meet all Senate
guidelines, but show promise and enthusiasm, under the guardianship of
another Propraetor who shall act as a mentor. As Senator et Propraetor
Marcus Minucius Audens has offered himself in this capacity, I shall
vote yes for Apollonius. CFD: UTI ROGAS Since he doesn't fulfill
the requirements for governorship, he´s an able and dedicated man,
suitable for one of the most important provinces. He deserves an
exemption. AICPM:
VTI ROGAS I feel a little bit hesitating to vote posiively mostly
because he is resident in Germany and I do not know how the citizenary
in Gaul will accept him. Anyway, I trust his abilities and enthusiasm
on the goals of our Republic to provide a wise and sucessful
governorship of this important province.
CMM: NEGO I cannot vote to
appoint someone immediately following notification to the whole Senate
that he does not meet any of the minimum standards that this body
established for appointment. MMA:
ABSTINEO I have indicated my feelings and recommendations already to
this august chamber, together with my offer to mentor this gentleman,
as I have done previously. Since I have offered to mentor this
individual and since he has two areas in which he does not meet the
letter of the law regarding the appointment to the position of
Propraetor, I cannot in good conscience vote for or against him. My
offer to mentor this individual still stands, should the Honored
Senior Consul see fit to make the temporary appointments, as suggested
by my honored and trusted colleague, Senator Strabo. MOG: UTI ROGAS - this is a very important
provincia and it needs a governor. S. Apollonius is mature and
dedicated.

Guidelines for Micronational
Recognition
Passed: 11 UTI ROGAS vs 2 NEGAT & 2
ABSTINEO
PC:
ANTIQUO. I honor Decius Iunius' cooperation and would welcome his input
if he is able to take time away from family concerns, but I also believe
Nova Roma and the macronational climate has changed since he penned
these. I also do not believe we should approve such a significant law
without considerably more discussion and consideration, both here and on
the Main List.
PCS: ABSTINEO.
MMA:
ABSTINEO I have offered to write a set of guidelines for this purpose,
and have recieved authority from the Senior Consul to proceed with that
project. I had asked the Jr. Consul to send me these guidelines so that
I might get started on that project. My intention was to use these
guidelines and the discussion at Roman Days as a basis for the project.
However, a response from the Jr. Consul was never recieved, and these
guidelines were immediately rushed onto the Senate Ballot in order,
apparently, to get to this point first. This, in spite of the fact that
this project had lain fallow for some long period of time. Since I am
not in a "racing mode" on this project, and since I have no wish to
cloud the "success" of the Jr. Consul in this instance, I gracefully
surrender the field, for whatever "honor" is to be gained by this
"victory," to the "Honored Junior Consul Sulla Felix"
MOG: UTI
ROGAS - this is a statement of what our goals should be and which
nations we should seek relations with, and I consider it good
advice.
