{{LanguageBar|Government public offices and committees (Nova Roma)}} [[Category:Apparitores (Nova Roma)|Apparitores]] [[Category:Magistracies (Nova Roma)| Magistracies]] {{NR Magistracy articles}} __TOC__ == Introduction == Both the [[Senate (Nova Roma)|senate]] and the [[Magistracies (Nova Roma)|magistrates]] have the power to not only appoint indivdual staff ([[Apparitor (Nova Roma)|''apparitores'']]) to serve magistrates and the state, but also to create or establish various public offices and working committees. These offices and committees alike will vary in function and purpose, determined by the relivant [[:Category:Senatus consulta (Nova Roma)|''senatus consultum'']] of the senate or the [[:Category:Edicta (Nova Roma)|''edictum'']] of the magistrate. Any citizen or ''apparitores'' appointed to these offices or committees become permanent public servants in the government until otherwise removed or other condition that dissolves the office or committee. All current ''apparitores'' are listed in the [[Album Decuriarum Apparitoriarum (Nova Roma)|''Album Decuriarum Apparitoriarum'']]. The lists below define a “head of office” or “head of committee” as so appointed by a magistrate or the senate respectively. When a magistrate appoints such a construct, the magistrate will always remain responsible for, and the ultimate authority to, all ''apparitores'' in the office or committee. In contrast, certain senate created offices or committees can invest certain powers and rights to the appointed head of office and these individuals will take on a different level of responsibility. Nova Roma law does not presently define offices and committees as legal entities, nor does it define a difference between them. Through practical convention, an office is considered a more permanent division of staff or allocation of public servants to a specific recurring set of duties. A committee is considered more temporary and may include citizens not considered ''apparitores'' outside of the committee itself. These delegations or assignments of tasks may not always contain the name of "committee" either and may list under a different construct all together.
