Prior to Imperator Caesar divi filius Augustus Provincia Germania did not exist. Imperator Caesar T. Flavius Domitianus Augustus created two provinces out of the former one, named Germania Inferior and Germania Superior. Germania Inferior fell after the capture of Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium (CCAA) Flavio Ricimero Iulio Patricio cos. (MCCXII a.u.c.).
