This file is parsed by a script that runs daily; please be careful to adhere to the format or results may be unpredictable.

The data for each photo is in a section of this format:

EQUAL EQUAL label EQUAL EQUAL

the label should be something short, simple, and UNIQUE. No spaces.
put two equals signs on either side of the label to make a section header.
after the section header is a bullet list with these items:
  • [[:Image:...some image file name (spaces are OK).jpg]]
you can cut and paste this from the image's description page. Put a colon before the "Image:" part so it doesn't include the actual image here.
  • caption.EN = English caption. You can use wiki markup (like brackets for links) in here.
  • caption.DE = ... captions in other languages. If not found, English caption will be used instead.

Choosing Photos - all images should be in approximately 6x4 format (as produced by a standard 35mm camera), oriented horizontally. They will be resized to 350 pixels wide automatically. If the image is taller than it is wide, then resizing to 350px horizontally will still leave it much too large vertically - thus, we have to use horizontal images only. Please choose top quality pictures - nothing blurred, dark, murky, out of focus, or with a tree seeming to grow from someone's head - showing historical artifacts, historic sites, groups of Nova Roma citizens, citizens at Roman sites...

An image is chosen at random each day; the ordering of entries in here is irrelevant. Contact Octavius for details about parser and bot updates.
