The Comitia Curiata is the oldest recorded Comitia in Rome predating the Republic. The members of the Comitia Curiata are Nova Roma's Lictors headed by the Pontifex Maximus. The duties of the Comitia Curiata are to invest elected and appointed magistrates with Imperium, witness the appointment of the official priests and priestess of the Religio Romana, adoptions, and recording of wills. They are called to approve or reject an adoption that elevates a Plebeian to the Ordo Patricius or lowers a Patrician to the Ordo Plebeius as well as to approve or reject an application from a Patrician who wishes to renounce his or her status and become a member of the Ordo Plebeius.
