Weights and measures




The Appendix Vergiliana contains a poem called Moretum and here is a recipe based on it. Additionally more recipes for Moretum can be found in Columella's Re de Rustica Book XII.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces Feta cheese
  • Some parsley leaves
  • Some coriander seeds
  • 1-2 cloves garlic
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons White Wine Vinegar

Directions

In a food processor or in a mortar blend the the ingredients, adjusting quantities to taste. Place in a small bowl or mold, then unmold and place it on a platter.
