The editor commentariorum is appointed by a vote of the senate on the nomination of a consul. The editor commentariorum shall serve for three years.
A deputy editor commentariorum is also be appointed by a vote of the senate on the nomination of a consul. The deputy serves as the chief assistant to the editor commentariorum. If during the three year term a vacancy occurs the deputy editor commentariorum shall assume the duties for remainder of that term as editor commentariorum.
