Rogatio Aurelia de facultate relationum ad senatum (Nova Roma)
The Aurelian Law concerning the right of reports to the Senate.
I. The lex Moravia de renuntiatione senatus actorum has stood for many years as a mandatory direction to the tribunes to enforce a reporting of senate proceedings.
II. Although the tribunes should always have this right, it should not be a mandatory requirement. The practice in recent years has seen the presiding magistrates of the senate also present the outcomes and final report of a session under a legal obligation. Having two lots of reporting, often historically stating the same thing, is unnecessary and confusing to citizens. This lex is intended to be an amendment lex only and seeks to remove the mandatory language from the lex Moravia.
III. In article I.A. of the lex Moravia, the word "shall' is to be replaced with "may".
IV. In article II.A. of the lex Moravia, the word "shall' is to be replaced with "may".
