Officina Aedilium Plebis MMDCCLX

Office of the Plebeian Aediles for the year L. Arminio Ti. Galerio cos. MMDCCLX a.u.c..

Welcome to the office of Plebeian Aediles of this year! Here you can find information about the ludi organised by Plebeian Aediles, our edicts and information about our staff. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, we are here to serve you!

In Nova Roma, Plebeian Aediles arrange usually two ludi each year, Ludi Ceriales in April and Ludi Plebeii in November. Below you can find links to the pages of the events themselves as well as links to the common rules for competitions and to racing factions.

For ancient Romans public festivals were important part of communal culture. Each community had their own festivals dedicated to local Gods and Goddesses. In Nova Roma we celebrate virtual festivals of our community. Games are arranged by elected officers, Plebeian Aediles in this case, for all citizens. As a citizen you can participate in many ways: you can send your chariot, gladiator or wild animal into the fights, take part into different competitions of literature, historical knowledge etc. Or you can simply sit back and enjoy the spectacle.
