In {{2014}} P. Claudius Caecus founded the [ Academia Minervalis]. This organization is an online educational institute dedicated towards teaching Nova Roma citizens about Roman history and culture. This organization also contains the first academic journal within Nova Roma. <ref>[ Announcement of founding of Academia Minervalis]</ref>
P. Claudius Caecus is a practicing physician and holds a medical doctorate. He is currently completing a masters degree in education. Prior to this he first obtained a bachelor of medical science with a minor in ancient history. He has continued to pursue his academic interests in both history and medicine. He has written manuscripts on the role of religion in ancient Greek and Roman medicine which have been published in the Journal of the History of Medicine and Allied Sciences. His main academic focus in this area has been the cult of Asclepius and Galenic medicine as practiced during the imperial era.
P. Claudius Caecus has been continuously involved in academic activity related to ancient Roman history:
* Organized fundraisers outside of Nova Roma to raise funds to excavate and protect the "Villa of the Papyri" in Herculaneum. {{2006}}
* Conducted field research in Campania as a summer student at the University of Naples focusing on the cult of Asclepius and Galenic practice of Medicine in the ancient world. {{2007}}
