Dacia provincial report MMDCCLXIII

Provincia Dacia Nova Roma report to the Senate.

T. Iulius Sabinus: Senatoribus Patribus Mátribusque Conscriptís, salutem plurimam dicit:

This is the second year of stagnation when it comes about events and projects organized in Dacia. The citizens' number increased from 22 to 24 and some of them are active at the provincial level but international, too.

• Membership.

Dacia has at this time 24 citizens. This year, in the same way as last year, the citizens' number increased with two new members, both active and assidui. T. Cassius Longinus, who last year was appointed as provincial scribe and had contribution editing the Nova Roma wiki was admited in the camillus program by unanime vote of the Colegium Pontificum. Until the end of the year, to Dacia, will join one new member who will participate active in the daily provincial life.

• Events.

Citizens from Dacia were not able to organize or participate this year to events. That was happened again because the international economical crisis which in negative way affected the usual standard of life. However, the legatus proconsulis M. Prometheus Decius, attended the meeting in Rome, from spring, and, visited our co-fellows from Panonnia.

• Projects.

At this time provincia Dacia has not any project. Creation of a second oppidum failed because the lack of membership and active involvment in the planned area.

• Budget.

Anticipated revenue from the province:

Curently Dacia has 8 assidui citizens from the total of 24 citizens. In procents, that it means 30%. In the same way as last year, following a policy based of the realities of the time will come, my expectation is to increase the tax payers procent to 35%.

Description of the fundraising activities planed:

No fundraising activities are planned for the next year.

Anticipated expenses within the province:

From the total amount of taxes, a half will remain in province. The sum will be used to pay the Dacia website domain, hosting and for the internet domain of Temple of Mercurius. This year a half from the taxes were not kept in the provincial treasury, so, provincia Dacia, participated in full to the Nova Roma treasury. The Dacia's internet domains were paid from private funds.

Description of provincial activities necessiting expenditure:

Nothing is planned at this moment.

• Communications.

• Provincial magistrates.

The change in the Dacia provincial magistrates system based of a more accurate historical model was not done. As time this is another one of stagnation, I decided to postpone that until a revigoration in the provincial life is visible. For this year I will not distinguish any provincial magistrate.

• Roman religion.

The Temple of Mercurius works well and it has 370 unique visitors, with 43 more than last year. The Temple can be found at this address.

As Nova Roma pontifex and sacerdos Mercurii I will continue active and in practical way with the Roman Religion development in my area following the Collegium Pontificum decisions.

• Conclusions.

This year can be characterized again as a year of stagnation. The interest level for activities and projects is low but it has some objective reasons. The situation in Dacia is connected with Nova Roma's difficult situation about which I will not insist.
